We were on the fence whether we needed a server & bartender for our 30 person backyard party, but it turned out to be an excellent decision. They came on time, helped setup, served food and drink and cleaned throughout the party and after. They allowed us to enjoy my 50th birthday party and that was more valuable than any gift I received.

We hosted a large housewarming party recently and hired a bartender and chef to assist so we would have more time to mingle with guests. I cannot speak highly enough about the bartender (Anthony) who arrived. He made great drinks and was on top of things for the entire party. We would hire him back in a heartbeat. The chef, however, was another story. My wife repeatedly confirmed with Gigsalad that the chef they were sending would not only be able to grill hot dogs/burgers, but would also know have experience with a wood fired pizza oven. The chef walked in, saw the oven getting heated up, and said "I don't know how to use that." So the burden of making and cooking pizzas fell to me and a fellow guest who had experience, which for both of us meant that we were spending less time enjoying the party and mingling with guests. The chef did a fine job with the hot dogs and burgers she cooked, but for some unknown reason only made a few burgers at a time - at one point she delivered 8 fresh burgers while 20 people were waiting for some, while an entire stack of uncooked burgers sat next to the grill. At one point she had "finished" cooking burgers and was putting the many spare ones away while many guests had never even gotten one, including my parents. She then fixated one trying to cook pizzas (and doing so badly, mangling the dough and not properly using the oven) after watching my friend and I do a few. We literally told her at the start, "forget about the pizza oven, you just focus on the grill" and she refused to do so. The quality of what she actually did cook on the grill was fine, but her efficiency was terrible and the false advertising (be it on Gigsalad or the chef herself) regarding pizza oven experience was a major negative. I would not recommend her to *anyone*. Use Gigsalad to fine a great bartender, but don't trust what they tell you when it comes to chefs. For future parties we will be finding an alternative provider in that department.

My experience with Studio Event Staffing Services the first time I used them was flawless. However, when I book this last event, Studio Event Staffing Services changed the time from 3 hours to 6 hours and refused to answer my calls or emails. I was forced to do 6 hours which I didn't need. I don't see myself using Studio Event Staffing Services in the future.

We apologize for the situation of the booking hours. Our minimum booking time is 4 hours. Once you booked, gigsalad will collect the payment in full and we get paid after the event completed. Any discrepancies on the hours after you booked, you have to call gigsalad to do the adjustments before the event. As for the emails and phone calls, we honestly did not ignore or refuse your calls or emails. We did not get any of the calls or emails on our end. We apologize for all that happened and will ensure that a similar situation will never repeat itself again should we be given another opportunity to be of service to you in the future.

The group that we had for our event was amazing! They arrived to the location early and went to work right away. They were all neat and clean. Some things we instructed them to do but so many other little helpful things they just jumped in and began to do and did well. Our crowd is not easiest to please and they did so with ease! There was a server and a bartender. There was lack of clarity regarding the breakdown at the end of the event. 20 minutes to close, the chaffing dishes were not emptied. When the time came, and they left 10 Minutes before the contracted end time. Both guys were very helpful and worked hard. One disappointment the baretender served champagne in wine glasses instead of flutes.

Easy booking and good price, but as per contract stated did not come to set up and were late 1:30h. Our guest arrived at 4pm and servers arrive 30min or more after guests. We had 2 waiters requested. Our male server was impressive and attentive, our young female server was not helpul and with attitude not a happy face throughout the event.

ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW... LITERALLY WOW!!! Milt & Janet Sheppard are an absolute gift to the service industry. From the beginning Milt, took on our event (Wedding), as if it was his personal project. As we conversed over the phone, like long lost friends, it quenched my nervousness about hiring a company sight unseen. Even up to the last minute, when I mentioned in passing that I needed something, he already had the items and was able to provide them for me, from his rental company. What a great source of knowledge MIlt and Janet possess, all culminating and translating into their staff.
The Event:
The Entire Staff showed up EARLYYYY!!! I hired six servers and one floor captain, and they all arrived like an army ready for battle. Ron, Lala, Gloria, Kenya, Tracy, Ana, and Richard . THEY WERE MY DREAM TEAM!!! Without them this event would have faltered greatly. Richard was our captain and he maintained such professionalism, composure and assertiveness in his dealing with the waitstaff as well as with our kitchen staff and event staff. To find out that this was his first time as a captain, the chef, kitchen staff and my event staff were all floored. He performed amazingly and I owe a lot of the night success to his involvement!
It was amazing to feel a sense of accomplishment and completion at the close of the event, realizing that there never was a moment of friction between the 25+ people that were employed for this event, as you know egos can play a major part in the success or failure of an event. I am more than happy to say that this event went off with out any glitches, due in part to "Studio Event Staffing Services".

We have used lots of different staffing companies for our parties over the years. These were by far the best (and I set the bar high for these things)! Jennifer and Ron arrived on time and very smartly dressed. They were polite, professional, hard working, highly competent and proactive in carrying out their duties over the course of the evening. Milton and Janet were excellent in confirming the booking, and making sure it all happened. Would recommend them highly, and will be using them again for next year's holiday party!

Overall, Stella did a good job: she was eager to jump in and help with setting up the food, cutting up the fruit, heating up the apps etc. She also was very likeable and friendly. What I noticed is that it seemed that Stella did not have that much experience with being a server. For example, when the guests would just arrive, she would start walking up to them with the food items before they even have a chance to say hello to everyone/grab a drink. Also, time management was a bit off (again stems from a lack of experience I gather). I would have to go into the kitchen and ask her to start serving the crab cakes or quiches etc. and she would just not have a system of when to bring up what and how long to circulate one given app around.
Now, I may be being over critical as I have worked as a cocktail waitress when I was in college and know the trade really well. In general, I would hire Stella again and would make sure to spend more time coaching her in advance of the party.

From doing an ice run, leaving the place very clean, and everywhere in between, the two servers we had were great at my boss's cocktail party. He was very impressed with how clean we were able to get the space so quickly after guests left. They kept the bar well stocked and there were never plates or cups left for more than two minutes!

I created an account on Gig Salad after our dinner party last year--the wait staff we booked then were terrible, and I didn't want a repeat of that experience. Of all the bids we got, Studio Event's services looked the best. And I wasn't disappointed. One of the servers we got was a little slow on the uptake, but overall, communications from the owners was prompt and terrific, the servers arrived early, and they did a fantastic job cleaning up. It was a relief to work with such professionals.

It was a pleasure to hire studio event staffing services to serve a buffet style meal at a celebration of life service my family had to honor my father after he passed away. The communication with Milt to finalize the details of the day were through and timely. Two of the three servers arrived on time, but they were all extremely professional, helpful, considerate, warm and friendly. I could not have been more pleased with the service. They went above and beyond, checking in throughout the night to see if there was anything else that I needed help with and asking thoughtful questions when they were unsure about something. I would recommend them highly and would absolutely hire them again for my next event.

The servers did an amazing job. We had about 65 people show up and with 2 servers and 1 bartender there was a lot of work to get done, but they all hustled from start to finish.

From the moment I received a proposal to a call after the party, I have received attention to my party and my requests. We were a small family barbecue ( 15 people ). We were about a week and a half away from an event we were hosting at our warehouse for donors. The original event company we were going to use was no longer going to work due to budget constraints. After using this site for the first time, I received 3 quotes, and Studio Event Staffing Services was the most affordable and quickest to respond. I worked with Janet primarily to confirm pricing, timing, arrival, etc. I had a questions regarding some of the equipment we had rented for the event and she had it all covered. Her team arrived on time, dressed as we had discussed, and immediately went to work with finishing up set up of our buffet line. Everyone on her team was friendly and very helpful throughout the afternoon. I would definitely recommend them again, and will keep them in mind for future events!
