The Sunshine Brass band performs a mix of classic New Orleans music, and modern top 40 music reimagined in acoustic brass band style. A typical Sunshine Brass Band set might include traditional selections like “You Are My Sunshine” and “Down By The Riverside,” along with music by Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Kanye West, and Weezer. It is fun music to dance to, and is easily recognizable, but done in a way you’ve never heard before! The size of the band is adaptable to fit the occasion. The Sunshine Brass band will bring live brass band music for your event, second line, ceremony, parade, wedding, party, french quarter escort, or benefit walk.
Joshua and his band were awesome throughout the whole planning process. At the very beginning he was up front with me that since our booking was fairly last minute there was a chance we wouldn't have his A-team for our event (we ended up getting them after all). He was also patient with me - he didn't pressure me to book until after I had confirmation that my permit was approved. On the day of, they showed up early and ready to go! They made sure our group had an awesome time, and everyone was definitely surprised.

The Sunshine Brass Band is a high energy brass band playing modern hits, and classic songs in the New Orleans club scene. Joshua Scalf, Pat Crilly, and Jay Steigner started the group with the goal of arranging popular music close to their hearts and close to the hearts of the varied audience that attends their shows. The performance is fun, and sure to make people smile.
We can perform as a parade or second line band in the streets, and we can also provide a PA system for small venues and performance halls.
