I work 45-50 hours a week and, like most people, have family and other obligations that limit my writing time. This workshop on sprint writing changed the way I look at my time management and how to be more productive. Susan is a great motivator. There was also a short section on how to handle the business end of a writing career that I hope to need in the near future.
As a bonus, Susan also provided a workshop booklet and a personalized plan for those who attended. And the personalized plans were not simply fill in the name and send it off. She looked at the questionnaire I filled out to set up the plan. That was worth the cost of the workshop alone.

Susan Smith Alvis has a very engaging manner about her; she is very approachable; she genuinely cares about her students, making them feel as though they've been friends for years. But she's also very passionate about her art and her career. All of these aptitudes together make her workshops fly by like an evening catching up with old friends.

She has been a writer in various formats for [more than] 15 years. She has learned a great deal by trial and error and by personal experience and is willing to give out that information to the up and coming writers of today. I'm a beginner to publishing, but Ms. Alvis offered information for anyone who is a writer at almost any "level" to put into practice. Her enthusiasm alone is motivational. Her seminar was far from boring or dry, it was lively and fun, plus the information one can glean from her wisdom is priceless!
