I'm a singing guitarist, performing a wide variety of crowd favorites from many eras of music. I have a musical style that is a little bit folk, a little bit gospel, stirred together with rock-n-roll and poured out in soulful vocals that will leave you feeling every word. I would love to make your event a success by providing memorable music.
Susanna's is a must-see for music lovers seeking a blend of fresh, original music and inventive cover interpretations delivered with passion and technical skill. I provide, set up and take down all my own audio equipment. I arrive early to ensure that I have time to set up in the correct place and do a sound check. I prepare more than enough music for the allotted time so that I am able to tailor my song selections for what the crowd is responding to. Most importantly, I sing and play with passion and enthusiasm. I'm excited to be there and I want everyone else to be excited about being there too!
Susanna Laird is a singer-songwriter, guitarist and pianist from Frederick Maryland. In addition to a wide range of covers, she performs an extensive collection of her own works. Passionate about writing songs that are poetic, intimate and authentic, she has a musical style that is a little bit folk, a little bit gospel, stirred together with rock-n-roll and poured out in soulful vocals that will leave you feeling every word.
Susanna has performed at the Takoma Park Folk Festival, The Ladybug Festival, Braver Angels National Convention and at a wide variety of events in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Delaware. She plays songs that appeal to a variety of ages and backgrounds. From traditional Irish music to 60’s soul to recent hits, there’s something in her set list for everyone. Some audience participation favorites are “Lean on Me”, “Country Roads", and “Midnight Train to Georgia”.
Her original songs are deeply personal, drawing on her own experiences such as being a cancer survivor, marrying her high school sweetheart and all the love and loss that comes with a well-lived life. She has released recordings of 3 of her songs and is working on recording and all of her original songs.
I require a power outlet close to the performance area so that I can plug in my sound system, unless you want me to perform totally acoustic, in which case I will be unplugged.
