Folk-inspired singer/songwriter with hints of blues, country & indie rock, I play mostly original material. I sing and play primarily guitar, sometimes ukulele and toy piano. I generally do not do family-friendly shows, as most of my originals are sassy and/or vulgar. I am available as a solo performer as well as a 4-piece band (guitar/vox, electric bass, drums, trombone).

Catchy original tunes with a cover or 2 thrown in for fun usually. Some country, some blues, some folk and some modern indie rock, Cue covers a large sampling of genres while maintaining a cohesion to the performance. She often also will banter or tell short, funny stories between songs (often about the songs themselves). Be warned though, Cue's known to be fun, sassy, and a bit vulgar with songs like "Karma Is A Bitch (And So Am I)" and her songs contain adult topics, such as "When You're Sober."
Ani DiFranco-influenced acoustic guitar--crunchy, treble-heavy, odd tunings, large dynamic range & sound. Liz Phair & Cat Power-influenced electric guitar. Suzie Cue's tunes sort of meet in the middle of those 2 worlds. Girl's got some pipes on her tiny self, too. Cue's original tunes range from country to blues to indie rock. Her live shows really showcase her personality--sometimes it feels like a comedy standup show between songs. Suzie and her part-time backup band are based in south Saint Louis city, MO.
I'm flexible and have been playing in various forums for almost 2 decades--coffee shops, bars, music venues, weird pop-up shows in random places; Cue can do it all! I can do unplugged acoustic solo shows if necessary, but I do prefer to be plugged into a PA, whether solo or with my band. My shows can be as fancy or as pared down as is necessary for an event. Monitors are helpful, but not necessary when solo. I do require at least 2 monitors for a band gig (1 for the drummer and 1 for the rest of us).
