Sylvia is currently the founder and CEO of a non-profit organization, Innovative Approach Foundation established in 1997. IAF has worked to rehabilitate over 6000 juvenile and adult offenders (murderers, robbers and sex offenders) and provided betterment to communities through programs and resource development. Because of violence taking her daughter life, (Krystal Joy Bennett) and her best friend Terrin Greer (two girls killed with one bullet of an AK-47).
The grief and overwhelming injustice of the court trials, Sylvia had to find motivation to live and not just exist. In Sylvia’s efforts to survive, she has turned her energy into helping to save lives primary on her journey.

Innovative Approach primarily service low-income communities and affirms high moral, spiritual and ethical standards.

The grief compiled with the overwhelming injustice of the court trials, Cleopatricka Greer, Mother of Terrin Greer has died. That seems to be the case of so many parents who lost a child to this senseless violence. In Sylvia’s efforts to survive, she has turned her energy into saving the lives of others primary on her journey. These efforts include the collaboration with several violence prevention organizations, The Gathering For Justice with Mr. Harry Belafonte, endorsed by Ms. Julie Bergman-Sender, filmmaker of Hollywood, the coordination of marches; BET (Black Entertainment Television)rock the vote, students pledge against gun violence and violence prevention events. Most importantly, Sylvia saw a need to teach, motive and engage our youth to take charge of what will be their future. Sylvia speaks nationally and empowers youth to raise the consciousness of their peers in spiritual, political, cultural, economical, and educational areas through training and development. With the assistance of these relationships, Sylvia, birth the documentary (Violence Vendettas = Victims) and the release of her most recent book Mind Fields; A Healing Journey to Survive the Murder of A Child.
