Our Company hired Taking August for our summer party and they were Amazing! Great selection of music, great quality, and amazing people! Would highly recommend them for any function.

We had over 400 guests at our event, and Taking August was a crowd favourite! As the owner/proprietor I would also add that both Kelsey and Dan are very professional and easy to deal with, offered excellent communication, and showed a high level of consideration for putting on a show that would satisfy our guests and make our event a tremendous success. Taking August is seriously amazing. They were supposed to be background music for our party, but nearly all the guests ended up just watching them the entire time because they were so incredible! Their musicianship is crazy, not to mention their harmonies! They played all kinds of different genres and catered to our crowd perfectly!

I have used Taking August for the last 4 years, as the live band for our company Christmas party. They are quite simply the best live band that I have ever listened to, they absolutely know how to read the audience and arrange their playlist accordingly, and will even play requests. Every year, they deliver such a performance that just really makes our evening perfect. They are very talented, perfect performers and really nice people to work with. I thoroughly recommend them as the 'Go To' band for your event, they are awesome and just keep getting better.

We hired Taking August for our April 2019 wedding at the Lake House in Calgary. We chose Taking August based on their profile, reviews and few YouTube videos. When Kelsey and Dan sent the list of songs in their repertoire we knew we had the right band - the songs covered a few generations and genres - but we were honestly surprised and amazed at how well they could perform that wide of a catolouge. They were also able to learn a couple of songs we had requested which made the evening that much more personal for us. They played the ceremony, cocktail hour and dance for us and the comments from our guests would mirror ours.

The venue (which hosts at least one wedding every weekend of the year), commented to us how impressed they were with Taking August’s music but even more importantly how professional and easy to work with Kelsey and Dan are (we agree).

The age range was roughly 20-70 and their songs catered to everyone. They put a unique twist on many classic/modern songs in a variety of genres. Shortly after we had family and friends join us to celebrate the evening, Taking August played beautiful background music at a volume that allowed our families and friends to get to know each other. They were also able to identify when it was time to get the party started and played accordingly. Musically speaking I would describe these two as a young vibrant duo with old bones! They play a vast variety of covers from the 70s to today in classic rock, country, rock, pop & top 40 kind of music. All of course with there own twists and styling. Professionally speaking I couldn’t have asked for better people to deal with. Would highly recommend for company parties, weddings or any occasion that requires some life and class. We thank them so much for essentially making our night as unforgettable as that kind of an evening should be and look forward to booking them again for our wedding!

I had hired Taking August to play a gig at my parents birthday parties(same night). At first I was nervous to hire any band given it was to celebrate 60 years young and given the age demographic I didn't know if live music would be well received.

However, Taking August knocked it out of the park and delivered with the volume and genre of music. They are so well rounded with their talents and ability to appeal to any crowd, no matter the age, venue and environment they are playing.

One was for a smaller group on our deck at our cabin, and the second was for a house party during the Christmas season. Both events were amazing! This young duo has incredible talent.
