Tambora provides a concert, or street party concert, or formal occassion. Given an agenda, we can also lead the event and provide everything from complete formal wedding-MC direction, to fun, professional concert or party banter, or if the occassion desires it, we can leave the MC-ing to others.
We enjoy opening shows as well as headlining. We understand the music and performance business as well as corporate events.
Frequently we provide two sets of 1 hour each, or three sets of 45 minutes each, but we are flexible to what is needed.
Tambora began to form in 2020 when Cindy Youngren was working on a charitable fundraiser, music compilation project, as requested by Tom Hopwood. After the studio work was done, with Tom's love of the "spaghetti western" music along with his athletic mastery of the nylon string guitars, he began to play some new licks (as guitar players do) and Cindy began to write words and melodies to the creations.
This band was carefully formed with select musicians & singers for their talent, professionalism and showmanship.
Home based in Peoria, IL the band loves both indoor and outdoor venues and loves when the area's latin-style dancers make the scene. If you like the Gipsy Kings, you'll love Tambora (and you'll hear a few of their covers as well).
Normal technical needs & lighting, and space enough for a six piece performance.
We are able to provide our own sound (and lights) company if required.
