Arabic dance, middle eastern dance, raqs sharqi, belly dance.. whatever you may call it- this is Tara's true passion and you can feel it when you watch her dance.

The belly dancer is meant to be playful, teasing, and feminine. Never giving away everything but always engaging her audience to be enticed into the world of mystery and dance..

More than a decade of experience in a variety of events and performance situations gives Tara a clear comfort for giving an artfully engaging performance, she has an ease for mesmerizing and playfully engaging with your audience, in true Arabic style. Tara has performed in restaurants, parties, festivals, and more- all across the globe!

Tara Sheba's dance history..
Born in California and descendant of a Lebanese princess, Tara spent much of her young and adult life living, training, and performing middle eastern dance forms all over the world, and mostly in Australia where she has been based for the past decade or more. Tara is widely recognized and esteemed in the belly dance community for her artistry in dance and choreography and fluid movement.

Now, she is excited to bring her passion and talent for middle eastern dance and the depth of her experience back to her home land, California.

SOUND
Its super important to be able to have loud music while I perform at your event- this makes all the difference to the success of the relationship between the performer (myself) and the audience (you and your guests).

I have a legitimately powerful portable speaker for this purpose, so if you don't have an appropriate sound system, I will bring mine! ;) However, for large events and spaces, or ones where you hire a DJ for sound, I will ask to be in touch with your DJ or planner so we may organize the use of your main sounds system.

COSTUMING
As a professional Arabic entertainer, I have a comprehensive collection of professionally tailored dance costumes, designed and fitted to me by the BEST belly dance costume designers/ ateliers in the world. There is no compromise on costume quality for me- this brings up the level of class of your event, and the wow factor in these costumes is almost a performance in itself.

If you have a theme or color scheme for your event, or you have a certain look in mind (i.e. modern/ pharaonic/ all red/ golden era/ etc), please let me know, and I will choose a costume to suit. Alternatively, if you spot one of my costumes in my photos, and that is what you prefer, you can request that I wear it.. however, I often sell old or worn costumes, so this latter is only available if that costume is still in my closet!

STAGING
I am a seasoned performer, so I have experience in, and am confident and able to perform in wide variety of settings. However- flat solid ground always works best if available! A stage is always a bonus, but any amount of flat solid ground is ideal. If you are able to organize a space like this for the performance, it will provide a better setting for me to optimize my performance. In saying that, I have successfully navigated dancing on rough and/or uneven spaces, albeit with a minor loss of balance here and there ;)
