Lots of Energy, Excitement, and an hour long of party pop rock!
Raised in the Gospel music tradition of Memphis, Tennessee, Taylor is one of those kids who were too ADD, too ADHD, too hyper-focused to be cooped up in the tedious regimen of classrooms and coded neighborhoods. Dropping out his junior year of high school to drum for a myriad of bands, Taylor traveled on multiple international tours with Sony Record's rock band Pillar, giving him wide exposure that put him in Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off" music video as her featured drummer, Revolver magazine alongside Tooth & Nail Record's The Letter Black, and also landed him with the Grammy Award-winning Peassal Sisters of O, Brother Where Art Thou? fame. After production work for celebrity vocal coach, Brett Manning of Singing Success in Nashville, Taylor stepped off the road as drummer and onto the stage as singer-songwriter. Recording his debut album (SUPERMESS), each song possesses the unique feature of being written, played, and sung by Taylor himself.
But, like his tumultuous school years, he has been hyper-focused on the one path that launches his integrated and expressive self-made self into the spotlight. The oppositional drums and manic guitars that taunted Taylor during tedious hours of regulated boredom, finally being released to wreak their havoc, Taylor's music pulls you from your office chair, off your front porch, out of the seat of your SUV seat onto the dance floor to give it up to the wild music inside you. While his music pays equal tribute to the pain of burying one’s soul in the backyard and building a swimming pool on top of it, his pop-rock style equally speaks to the human impulse of reinvention: what Taylor Carroll calls SUPERMESS.
