Experience the beauty and culture of Japan through traditional Japanese dance. Also known as Nihon Buyou, this traditional dance has represented the spirituality, culture, and history of Japan for hundreds of years.
Performances are typically done on a stage together with traditional Japanese instrumental music, although many of Shiho's performances have also been done in other venues as well, such as in restaurants and outdoor settings. Performances by Shiho Tendou bring to life the spirit of Japan, creating an unforgettable experience.
Enjoy the breathtaking beauty of a cultural art so unique to Japan. Book a live performance today!

Shiho was the perfect addition to our holiday party! Our theme was "Dining Around the World," and we highlighted different countries throughout the evening. She responded promptly to all of my messages, was easy to interact with, and very professional. Shiho and her student are extremely talented and very kind. They came early to do a sound check and interacted with our guests and took photos with them after the performance. We discussed what would work best for our party, which was an opening dance, an explanation of Japanese dance, a couple more dances, and an interactive session with fans for the audience. One of the highlights was when our guests were able to learn Japanese dance while using fans that were brought to the performance. I am super grateful to have found this wonderful talent through GigSalad! ARIGATO!

Shiho Tendou
Shiho and Yoko are exceptional dancers. Not only did they perform multiple dance in different attire, they also took time to teach us about the history of their art and to host a dance where the audience participated. I would highly recommend them!
The beauty and grace of the performance was a happy added feature to our event. Shiho was so incredibly talented and gracious and the Koto player was so talented. We enjoyed their performances and the beauty they added to our event.

Since the age of 3, Shiho has been training within the Tendou Ryu traditional dance group that her grandmother established in 1984. She also has been training under one of the famous Nihon-buyo and Kabuki dance performers, Kikuhiro Otowa who studied under Kikuzou Otowa who was the student of 6 daime Onoe Kikugoro. Shiho majored in Theater Arts at Nihon University of Arts. Through her Japanese dance experience and performance, she desires to show the real beauty of performing arts; that is, to invoke the beauty of spiritual energy and emotion in order to help the audience understand and feel more than they normally would from something purely visual.
