Professional saxophone performer with successful experience in live performing, studio recording, and computer technical expertise for recording projects and processes. Offering experience and strengths in: Bookings, scheduling, technical knowledge, problem resolution. I recently moved to the Quad Cities in Iowa from Knoxville, Tennessee where I opened for Herbie Hancock at the Tennessee Theatre. I’ve played in the Quad Cities locally at The River Music Experience, The Grape Life, Cool Beanz, The Smoking Dog, The Blackhawk Hotel, The Catfish Jazz Society, Cabanas Bar in Rock Island, Breezers Pub in Dubuque, Rollin' on the River Blues Festival in Keokuk, and Iowa City.
Terry is a hard working guy that’s really ahead of the curve. He’s articulate and really knows how to fit in with other players. He reads the audience and magically knows what to play and how to play it. Terry is very modest about his talent and his instrument speaks for itself. He’s a blessing to the local music scene and I’d hire him in a heartbeat.

I determine what the expectations are and present this through the saxophone. Rock and Roll gigs need a rock and roll saxophone player. The owner of a piano bar expects a relaxing soft background saxophone sound. Studio engineers need a sound that is very specific to the needs of the recording. Many times I've been called in to a band I have never played in before. Listen, learn and blend. This is what I provide. Always add to the music and make it better. Arrive early and dress for success.
Professional saxophone performer with a successful record of experience and achievements for live performing, recording, composing, collaboration and computer technical expertise. I have 35+ years experience playing as a duo, opening for Herbie Hancock at the Tennessee Theater with a piano player, all the way up to big bands. Restaurants, clubs, events, even peoples living rooms.
I have played as a freelance artist most of my career. I have a unique opportunity to make the saxophone my career and I am actively pursuing this goal. I am a lead alto and tenor player with strong Sanborn/Brecker sound and influences.
Depending on the gig, no additional setup may be required, or I may be required to bring a mic, chair, stand, percussion, amplifier or music. For full band gigs, I usually have a tool bag with several types of cables and a few 9 volt batteries.

Almost every famous Rock and Jazz group or artist has had an influence on my sound. As a result of being a diverse player, I can stand up and solo in a big band like I was playing in the 1920's or play on stage with a funk band to challenge an electric guitar. Jazz fusion has essentially removed any boundaries from my style.
MAJOR saxophone influences include David Sanborn, Dave Koz, Michael Brecker, Bob Berg, Grover Washington Jr., Joshua Redman, John Coltrane, King Curtis, Joe Lovano, Jackie McLean, Maceo Parker, Charlie Parker, John Zorn, Phil Woods, Jerry Coker, Jamey Aebersold, Stan Getz, Boots Randolph
Musician and group influences include: Billy Joel, Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis, Henry Mancini, Frank Sinatra, Pink Floyd, Spyro Gyra, The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, AC/DC, Pat Metheny, Steely Dan, Sting, Billy Cobham
Usually a place to stand with enough rrom to have a few saxophones out of harms way.
