The Back Door Jam

Formed in the fall of 2009, the Back Door Jam is the only tribute to the Doors in Central Texas. This quartet brings the magic, energy and mystery of the legendary 60’s rock group back to life for those who were lucky enough to experience the Doors live and those who wish they had. The Back Door Jam emulates the classic sound of the Doors with amazing authenticity.

Scotty Hardway, a classically-trained pianist whose first stint as a professional musician was in a Doors cover band once again rises to the challenge of being Ray Manzarek, revered co-founder of the Doors, holding down the low end with his left hand, while his right works melodic magic.

Evoking guitarist and songwriter Robby Krieger, Aaron Bateman emulates Krieger’s style with precision and brings to life the licks and trills of lore with invigorating freshness. Bateman graduated from the Musicians Institute of Technology’s guitar program.

Colombian born Sergio Trejos, whose masterful intuitive percussive instincts and tight rhythms, serve as the underpinning for the group, studied drums and percussion at London Tech Music Schools. Sergio has over ten years of playing experience with a variety of artists.

For years a writer who left a musical past on the backburner, Joe Rossi is the driving force behind the Back Door Jam. As a musician and songwriter Joe has staged shows and festivals, performed and recorded original music, as well as produced his own CD. This latest project brings Rossi back to the stage using his uncanny resemblance to Jim Morrison to bring the legendary group back to life in what will soon be the premiere Doors Tribute band in the world.
