The Barker Farm Exotic Petting Zoo

I just wanted to take a moment to let you know who we are. Our name is Tony and Kate Barker, we have two kids (Preston and Si). We started The Barker Farm petting zoo 7 years ago. We purchased some alpacas and llamas after selling our pet grooming business that we owned for over 12 years. We started taking the alpacas to birthday parties and it was a hit so we started expanding. Next we was blessed enough to get Daniel the Camel, which has grown into a local celebrity. We have grown to 40 plus species. We wanted a business that could involve our family in the day to day operations. We also wanted to bring something to our county and area that would give a homestead small farm feel. We don’t try to compete (nor could we) with large zoos.
Our mission is to give you an experience that you will not forget. We work hard to provide top of the line vet care, nutrition and enrichment for the animals under our care. We believe a combination of these makes happy, friendly animals that are eager to meet you. We never push an animal beyond what they are comfortable with nor that would harm them in any way.
We offer mobile experiences and at-the-farm experiences by appointment for special events. Our mobile options are a large petting zoo (meet and feed) or an animal show (last approx. 45 min., presentation style with interaction with the audience).
