Larry was amazing! He brought in another musician to play with him and it was absolutely the best choice. The music was recognizable and appreciated by all age groups. The best part - it rained during the ceremony (outside tent) and guests had to dash to the reception tent. They opened with "Who'll Stop the Rain"! Put a smile right on my face. I can't thank them enough for their talent and smiles.
Response from The Byrd Brothers:
Thanks Angie, I thought everything turned out just right. Beautiful setting, nice people and the right music can always beat a little rain! Glad Chris and I could play a little part of your big day. Good luck to you and John!
We absolutely loved the Byrd Brothers for our cocktail hour. Great sound and a very fun duo!
Response from The Byrd Brothers:
Thanks for the kind words Matt, really fun and nice group….Glad you got to enjoy our city (Madison Wi) too! Even the cheese curds…they grow on you! All the best to you two!
Larry and John are incredibly talented musicians. They were communicative and professional from our first conversation to our last. They learned the songs we asked and captured the essence we were seeking. I feel like they went above and beyond for our wedding and their sound made for a truly beautiful day. It was a cold Fall day and they braved through the weather without hesitation. We were so lucky to have had them be a big part of the day!
Response from The Byrd Brothers:
Thanks for your kind words Jensen. It was an honor to be part of your big day. What a beautiful wedding, our frozen fingers might disagree but you and Jeff were fun to work with, thanks again and a long and happy life together!
We have used the Byrd Brothers several times for events for our retail shop events. They do an awesome job. Music is awesome with a personality to go with it. Highly recommend !

The Byrd Brothers are either a duo or trio consisting of 3 music veterans each with a long list of musical accomplishments. Larry Bird or "(link hidden)rd" had a long career in a popular duo called Kydd & (link hidden)ter 14 years and two cds, opening up for the likes of George Jones and (link hidden)omas, Kydd & Byrd went their separate ways. Continuing on as a solo artist, Larry was lucky enough to find 2 "Brothers" that he really connects with on and off stage. The connection so strong that people would ask if they were brothers, hence the name. Jon Vriesacker (fiddle) owns an impressive music resume....music degree from UW-Madison, studied at Berkley College of Music and worked with Pulitzer Prize winning composer. Jon soloed with the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra. Recorded with Willy Porter, Freedy Johnston and Garbage, played on an Academy Award winning song from the Motorcycle Diaries and oh yeah has perfect pitch. Lane Venden (guitar, mandolin, fiddle) started playing violin in 4th grade and by age 12 was working professionally. Has played with some top country bands like Under the Gun and Madison County. Shared the stage with the likes of Little Big Town, Sugarland, Trace Adkins, Phil Vassar, ZZ Top etc. Larry and the Brothers believe it's all about the songs. And with their relaxed comedic connection with the crowd and a seemingly endless song list, the Brothers will take you back to a simpler time when the music was the soundtrack to your life. From the Beatles to the Bodeans, John Prine to John Mayer, classic rock to modern country , you'll feel every song and remember where you were and how you felt back then. Using state of the art sound equipment and lights that will fit into any venue or hall. The Byrd Brothers have played everything from a car rally in Montana to the V.I.P. Passover at the Biltmore in Phoenix , to your living room for a house concert, the cocktail hour for your wedding.....the setup and sound are always professional and perfect for the setting. These guys love what they do and you can't help but have as much fun as they are having. These are live shows that take you back and let you breathe. Shows that both energize and soothe the soul. Musicians that know how to let their instruments tell a story. Stories that feel new yet familiar. Be part of the Brotherhood. Enjoy the Experience.
