The Cheap Shots is a four piece part-rock-show, part-dance-party cover band that has played all major festivals and music events in and around southeast Wisconsin for more than 14 years. We use wireless instruments for maximum audience participation. We have one of the most diverse set lists - “from Rush to Usher” - so EVERYONE will enjoy the show. Typically, we play for 3.5 hours straight through with no break to make sure people keep partying. We’re always high-energy and entertaining on stage, and for the price we bring great value. We also bring our full festival-sized production team for the best possible sound and lighting experience, guaranteeing a real rock show.
Our biggest concern with the wedding was the music. We knew right away we would be doing a band over a DJ. It was a little stressful planning out of state because we never had a chance to see anyone live. The Cheap Shots did not less us down! The learned new songs that we had wanted and already had a great song list to begin. They sounded great and they were SO.MUCH.FUN. Our guests were blown away! Our dance floor was packed the entire night which is exactly what we wanted. Some even got up on stage!! I had so many people tell me they felt like they were at a concert. Our wedding is one that will not be forgotten, and the Cheap Shots played a big role in making that happen!

We have one of the widest set lists among similar cover bands, playing everything from Rush to Usher. We are active and engaging on stage, never staying in one spot too long and frequently going out into the audience to sing and perform (since we have wireless instruments). We put on a strong performance but don't take ourselves too seriously. We're "just a cover band," so we try to make the most of the experience with our fans by getting them involved as much as possible. Plus, our outstanding lights show is really something to see!
What started as five guys in a New Berlin basement with 10 songs, no name, and no gigs have developed into one of Wisconsin's best and most requested cover bands. For 11 years, The Cheap Shots has tried to give live music audiences what they want - recognizable songs with an engaging and entertaining on-stage performance. Whether we're playing for 800 people at a festival or a private party for 100 guests, we put our full energy into everything we do. We're not THE best band out there, for certain, but we work hard to make sure fans show up, stay, and come back again and again. Our passion comes through in the way we handle band business and how we interact on stage during live performances. We hope you'll agree that The Cheap Shots is a party band like no other!
