Overview
Mary Contrary is a professional Burlesque Performer/Producer and Go-Go Dancer, with 10 years of experience in entertainment. In 2014, Mary founded Savannah GA’s first burlesque production – The Dirty Dolls Revue – which showcases contemporary and classic burlesque, as well as cirque-inspired burlesque acts.
In 2016, the internationally touring Suicide Girls Blackheart Burlesque invited Mary to open their show during 3 consecutive tours. Mary is a staple at numerous large scale LGBT pride events, such as Girls In Wonderland and Pensacola Pride. Mary has also had the honor of performing her “Bloodbath Act” for the casts of House of 1000 Corpses and Scary Movie.

I had already had an amazing expressive just communicating with the dolls before the event even began. They were extremely professional but also personable. The day before the event we had a lineup change that could've messed up the whole show, but they were able to adjust with me and actually made the whole event even that much better!! They interacted with the audience and gave a performance to remember. People are still talking about them. If you were hesitant on booking them, don't be. They are all the say to be and more!

ABOUT MARY:
Mary Contrary is a professional burlesque performer/producer and go-go dancer, with 10 years of experience in entertainment. In 2014, Mary founded Savannah Georgia’s first burlesque production – The Dirty Dolls Revue – which showcases contemporary and classic burlesque, as well as cirque-inspired burlesque acts. In 2016, the internationally touring Suicide Girls Blackheart Burlesque invited Mary to open their show during three consecutive tours. Mary is also a staple at numerous large scale LGBT pride events, such as Girls In Wonderland and Pensacola Pride. Additionally, Mary has danced for renowned EDM artists including DJ Icey, DJ Baby Anne and DJ Micro. In 2015 and 2016, Mary had the honor of performing her “Bloodbath Act” for the casts of House of 1000 Corpses and Scary Movie.
Mary has 16 years of training in ballet, jazz, pointe and choreography. She earned her BFA in Painting & Art History and has 10 years of costuming experience. This diverse creative background is evident in her artistic and avant-garde approach to burlesque. With edgy aesthetics and modern music, Mary creates one-of-a-kind performances that resonate with today’s audiences. Whether it’s her renowned Glittering Bathtub Act, her double barrel confetti cannon, or her hypnotizing Voodoo Priestess – audiences keep returning to see the artistry, showmanship and element of surprise Mary brings to the stage.
ABOUT THE DIRTY DOLLS:
For The Dirty Dolls Burlesque Revue, Mary Contrary brings together burlesque dancers with a diverse array of talents and performance specialties. While every Dirty Dolls Show has the Art of the Striptease as its basis, individual acts may also include Fire Performance, Juggling and Circus Arts, Bellydance & more. Specialty Acts and Themes (such as The Glitter Bath, Cosplay, Military etc) are also available upon request.
Shows are tailored to the specific needs of venues and promoters. The typical runtime is 45 - 90 minutes and features three or more performers.
