Founding Washington Area Musicians Association (WAMA) members The Crimestoppers have been playing old school rock and rockin' blues up and down the mid-Atlantic for over 35 years. One of the area's longest running party bands, we play corporate events, special holiday events, regular bar gigs, and your backyard! References upon request.
I hired The Crimestoppers for a business function at the Hyatt Regency Washington in D.C. and they were extremely professional, from the beginning of the booking process to the end of their performance. They understood that because it was a business function, I was going to tell them to control the volume: and that's exactly what they did. And being a drummer myself, I don't know if their drummer could play any quieter than he was!! But I can only imagine how much more fun it would be if they didn't have such a strict limit on volume... they played some great tunes, including some amazing Grateful Dead covers. My only regret is making them play so low!!
They are also very friendly and laid back/relaxed, making for a fun night no matter what kind of audience or function they play for. All in all, when hiring a band for a business function you can't ask for more out of these guys. Stellar professionalism and a great performance!
Thank you, Crimestoppers!

Ok, so now that I have your attention, I’d like to re-introduce you to:
The Crimestoppers
This band has been playing the Mid-Atlantic scene, from Maryland to North Carolina, for over thirty-five (35) years. Founding Washington Area Musician Association members (WAMA) and Wammie-nominated Crimestoppers play a combination of classic rock, rockin’ blues, and newer alt-rock selections. The band covers everything from classic Chicago and Delta blues, to Eric Clapton/Cream, to Neil Young, to the Allman Brothers and Grateful Dead, to Stevie Ray Vaughn, to Gin Blossoms and DaDa, to Los Lonely Boys, to band member originals.
Their flexible styles and broad range of covers makes them ideal for all kinds of venues, parties, and corporate events. They can play with the best of the blues bands, be equally at home in the classic rock and jam-band scene, and present a very fun but appropriate corporate event or holiday show. The band is very adept at modifying their shows to accommodate the venue/event, whether it is a city summer concert series, a corporate party, or a late-night music venue. The band has multiple configurations for all occasions, including 4-piece, 5-piece with sax or harp, 6-piece with sax or harp, and 7-piece with 2 guitars and sax or harp.
Guaranteed to please, both from a listening and revenue per seat perspective, the band has played every club that no longer exists in the Mid-Atlantic area, including: The Bayou, The Wax Museum, The Psychedelly, Club Saba/Roxy, The Gentry, Hunters, The Mineshaft (Charlottesville VA), The Carolinian (Nagshead NC), Chick Halls Surf Club, and many more that we no longer remember (hey, 30 years is a long time!).
Recent appearances include Naptown BarBayQ Festival (5 years), The Hamilton (Newmeyer Flyer Productions Halloween Bash, Strathmore Music Hall (Bandhouse Gigs’ Woodstock 40th Anniv. Tribute), Bethesda Blues and Jazz Club, Hard Rock (DC), Delaware State Music Festival (Dewey Beach DE, four years!), The Bethany Beach (Delaware) Bandstand (3 years), Rusty Rudder (Dewey Beach), The Globe (link hidden) Army 10M race at the Pentagon (Three years in a row!), Nationals Stadium Fairground, Villain & Saints, Bayou DC, Clyde’s of Chevy Chase, JVs Restaurant, Lakewood Country Club, Lansdowne (VA) Resort, Old Anglers Inn, Rockville Town Center, Montgomery Village (MD) Summer Concert Series, Bethesda (MD) Downtown Rocks, VisArts (Rockville MD), Star Diner Tiki Bar, Bangkok Blues, Dunmore’s Tavern, Jays Saloon, Fast Eddies Blues Room, The Chalkboard (Bethany Beach DE), Frogg Pond (Rehoboth Beach DE), Rodeo, Outta the Way Café, Public House No. 7, Nuzback’s (including their July 4th holiday party two years in a row!), King Street Blues, The Bungalow, Lost Rhino Brewing Company, and John Strongbow’s Tavern, along with private, corporate, and holiday events all year long.
