Mauricio Villanueva Espinosa, born in León, but raised in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
Mauricio is an artist with an eclectic background such as Opera, Classical music, a singer songwriter, sings Mariachi, Pop, and Salsa. A Latin dancer, plays Latin percussion, Leader of his own band and produces his own Podcast.
Studied Classical Music at the Music Conservatory of the University of Agder, Norway. Conservatorio L. Refice, Italy. And Flanders Operastudio, Belgium.
Has performed in Europe, Asia, Mexico, and the US. As well as being part of the reality show La Voz 2022 (The Voice) in Mexico. The same year, Mauricio played a role as part of the Ensemble for the Tony award musical “In the heights” produced by STAGES StL and nominated as best ensemble in 2022.
Mauricio has also debuted as an indie music artists singer songwriter, producing his first album “ConSentido”, now directing his own world music project ‘ConSentido Project’ in the Midwest. All his music is on all digital platforms.
Currently based in St Louis, Mauricio has founded his purpose to teach and inspire people through dancing, he's a new Teaching Artist for Dancing Classrooms StL, as well as a salsa instructor and choreographer for Almas del Ritmo Dance Company, Mauricio is so proud and ready to bring great energy to all ages.
When he’s not teaching, Mauricio is producing, performing, and engaging with his audience on either a proper stage or on social media.
Stage requirements:
• Gran Piano / Upright piano (tuned) or a professional electrical keyboard (88 heavy keys).
• In case of an Electric piano, I will need 2 monitors, 2 speakers (for the audience) and one microphone for vocals. All that requires a console and a sound engineer technician to take care of it.
• Light will be required for the pianist and proper lights for the stage.
• Water and a private space to warm up if possible.

My biggest influence in life has been the need to say something while learning to speak other languages. I developed a stronger interpretation of my melodies and lyrics, even when I was singing in a foreign language I started connecting more.
To make music with the people that I was with at the moment, many times I was surrounded by musicians that the only language we could understand each other was MUSIC. It is how I learned and got the need to create bridges through my music.
