The Farida Nelson Trio

The Farida Nelson Trio is a power jazz rock fusion trio performing energetic songs featuring Farida on bass, keyboards and singing. Farida is complimented by Paul Branin on guitar and saxophone with Christopher Gamper on drums and percussion. We will thrill your audience with superior musicianship, a stellar light show with two fog machines and we have a 1300-watt PA system to rock your venue. Our song selection consists of songs from Chaka Khan, The Temptations, Dua Lipa, The Who, David Bowie, Level 42, RUSH, The Beatles, Jeff Beck and Jaco Pastorius.

Farida is also available as a solo guitarist/bass/voice with or without backing tracks. The fee range for Farida solo is $200 per hour with a 2-hour minimum.

The Farida Nelson Trio is a power rock, jazz fusion group composed of Farida on bass, keyboards and voice with Paul Branin on guitar and saxophone plus Christopher Gamper on drums. Farida is a charismatic multi-instrumentalist who hails from Azerbaijan where she was the bassist, music director and chief songwriter for the wildly popular bands, Unformal and Milk & Kisses. Farida led these bands to the Eurovision finals in 2008 and 2010. Paul Branin is an in-demand guitarist/saxophonist in the Tri-Valley area with over twelve album credits with a variety of artists in addition to performing with his bands Jazz Synergy and The Machine. Christopher Gamper started playing drums at the age of 8 years old and completed his degree in jazz studies from Central State University, Ohio. Chris performs and records regularly in the Chris Gamper Trio & Quartet, The Ghost Town Messengers and Hop Sauce.

Farida hails from Azerbaijan as her native country’s first female bass player that led her band to become a finalist of the National Final for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008 as a member of the rock band Unformal. She continued her successful career as the bassist in Azerbaijan’s number one pop- rock band Milk & Kisses, and two years later, in 2010, they became finalists of the same National Final for the Eurovision Song Contest, as well as the New Wave song contest held in Latvia. Farida is a music teacher specializing in early childhood development at a Montessori school in the Bay Area, plus numerous private students to prepare them for competitions. Farida served as the bassist in the rock trio Thorslund from 2019 to 2020. Farida is currently performed her Farida’s Melodious Journey throughout 2022, one-woman multi-instrumentalist show singing, playing piano, keytar, bass, guitar and more. Farida earned her MA in Piano Performance from Baku Music Academy.

The Farida Nelson Trio has a high-end backline with our own 1300-watt JBL PA system plus a 12-light DMX show. The stage size requirement is 20' wide by 15" deep with a drum riser. We will provide a stage plot. We also require a site visit at least two weeks prior to the event. Please let me know if you have any questions.
