The Hi-Tops

We're four friends who take music seriously and love to play live. We are a very versatile group with a broad catalog of original music and an equally deep repertoire of covers that can fit most moods. We can bring entertaining live rock energy or we can be laid back. We can play your office Christmas party and we can also play your step-dads funeral reception. It's all up to what you'd like to hear - we are more than happy to take cover suggestions and follow any etiquette your event requires.

We are a rock/alternative band based out of Calgary, Alberta. As a group over the past 5 years we've played all across Canada - tours, festivals and independent gigs. Along the way we've been fortunate enough to play with acts such as Mariana's Trench, Ron Gallo and Ill Scarlet. We have also released two studio EP's since we've been together - one of which received Rock Recording of the Year at the 2023 YYC Music Awards.

Our shows sound best when there is a hired sound tech at the event. We are able to play without one but it is widely accepted practice for a lot of bands - sound quality is significantly improved and it generally makes for a better experience. However, this is up to the booker. We have formed positive relationships with a number of reliable sound techs in the area and would be happy to refer them or include them in the booking fee.

We are able to provide all our own instruments (drums and guitars) and amplification. Depending on the scale of the event, additional sound rentals may be required. It's a plus when vocal equipment (mics, stands, cords and monitors) is provided but it is not required.

We do not require any lighting or proper staging.
