The High Spirits

Anna & Dave were such a pleasure to work with from start to finish. They were willing to work with my budget and were very open to the songs I requested. They also had a number of great songs in their repertoire already - I ended up going with one they suggested and it was a big hit!
My aim was to surprise a bridal party of 11 people with a love song. Anna & Dave followed my instructions to a tee and we were able to surprise the whole group! Timing was very important in order to pull it off and Anna & Dave were so flexible and communicative that it went off without a hitch!
It was the perfect end to our trip and the bride announced that it was her favorite part of the whole weekend! I can't thank them enough!

Anna and Dave provided the soundtrack to our really wonderful (and successful!) benefit night at Flatbread Company in Portland. We were raising funds for an upcoming book project as well as investment in new audio equipment and well surpassed our goal--many thanks to be beautiful atmosphere provided by The High Spirits. Needless to say, the music was just perfect--low key covers and originals, tunes that had us swaying along and tapping our feet, but nothing too overpowering to drown out the guests socializing--but also, the band was so professional, brought all their own equipment, and got everything set up and broken down (seemingly) effortlessly. Since we were running the event--checking in on guests and raffles and manning a donation table--we didn't have much time to make sure that the music was going smoothly, and we really didn't have to. The High Spirits were just perfect for our fundraiser and we can't praise their music highly enough.

The High Spirits were the perfect addition to our wedding. They were super easy and attentive to work with, and extremely flexible to our needs. They learned the songs we wanted for our wedding so fast and with perfection. They already have a very diverse playlist, and shocked me how they can transition into different genres and even decades. They are truly amazing singers, song writers, musicians and people to work with. We try to go see them whenever they play live in our area, and have continuous remarks from our wedding guests on how good they were. I would definitely recommend going to see The High Spirits and having them play at any kind of event.

we had heard The High Spirits in Portland one night, when we got married in vermont a few years later - we knew we needed to have them.They fit our personality perfectly. a true ease to work with - from song lists to small details they were great!! so fun when the wedding day came!

The High Spirits were a joy to host. They were professional, accommodating, and a real crowd pleaser. They're music is dynamic, soulful, often playful, folky/rock. An absolutely amazing duo!

Anna was amazing right from the start! Always quick to respond to my questions and very professional. I had requested she sing a very specific song that she had to learn before our big day. She completed my ceremony vision perfectly! I could not have found a more perfect group of musicians! Our guests loved the pre-ceremony music too! HIGHLY recommend her!!

The High Spirits are a very appealing duo who play music that resonates with people both young and old. Anna and Dave Patterson are very down-to-earth and their music is too. A combination of Americana, folk, blues, and rock, the High Spirits have something for everyone. They are a crowd favorite, and we look forward to seeing them again.

The High Spirits played a book reading event that I was at. They played tasteful respectful background music but were still able to engage with attendees.

The Patterson duo was perfect for my wedding! They were so easy to work with, personable and energetic before and durning the wedding. My ceremony was held outdoors and the High Spirits brought together the perfect atmosphere we were searching for. They have such a great sound and beat an organ and slow hymn any day! You won't be disappointed!

We hired The High Sprits to preform a song during our wedding ceremony as well as music for when our guests were arriving. We're so happy to have had Anna and Dave be a part of our wedding ceremony! They were easy to communicate with during our planning process and replied clearly and quickly to all of our questions that came up along the way. They were very helpful in providing suggestions for what songs to play and at the same time very open to our requests. Dave and Anna provided us with their professional opinion in how to use music to help maintain a natural flow to our event. The blend of Anna's beautiful voice with Dave's skilled guitar playing helped to create a warm and uplifting atmosphere for our guests to mingle while waiting for our ceremony. They delivered an excellent performance of a song we chose to be included in our ceremony, leaving many guests talking about what a wonderful and unique addition they provided to our ceremony.
