Overview
Jacksonville based hip hop musician The IGive has been performing professionally for 7 years. He has released one mixtape "God Iz Music" (available on Datpiff), two original studio albums "Rhythm & Poetry" and "DreamKillerz" (both albums available on iTunes, Amazon, etc), and one live album "DreamKillerz [Live]" (available on Bandcamp).
He's traveled mostly throughout the Southeastern U.S. and delivers potent positive energy in his performances and soul and thought to his music. He is a lyrical emcee.
The IGive hosts Artis(Tree) Live Downtown at Club TSI (Jax) on 2nd & 4th Thursday's and is a former host of The Cypher Open Mic Poetry & Soul.

What to Expect
The IGive performs accompanied by DJ or solo singer/musician. He is equipped to deliver high energy, engaging, fun performances from 15-60 minutes that capture the energy of classic hip hop shows, the depth of spoken word poetry, and the soulful vibe of your favorite music concert. He is an experienced performer with the ability to improvise (including hip hop freestyle) and interact with crowds of all backgrounds. His performances are catered to all audiences of all kinds and can mix it up with family friendly environments, professional/corporate settings, art/folk, classic (true school culture), and even with hardcore hip hop/band crowds.
The IGive is an accomplish spoken word poet and singer able to provide organic, thought provoking, and engaging performance experiences. He is a Black on Black Rhyme member.
The IGive is also an experienced M.C. (i.e. event host) having previously co-hosted The Cypher Open Mic Poetry & Soul for 3 years and serves as the present host of Artis(Tree) Live Downtown, which is a bi-weekly event in Jacksonville, FL. He is able to entertain any audience and facilitate a show that is engaging and inclusive whether simple or complex.
About
Greg “The IGive” East is an Ohio native and Jacksonville, FL resident who has been composing and reciting rhymes since the 2nd grade. In an era where most emcees are bragging on how good they are or how much material assets they’ve acquired, The IGive is locked into expressing feel good, progressive music that one may vibe to and gain something from. He’s an old school rapper with a new school flow and his music is considered a breath of fresh air in comparison to the music that floods our airwaves today and is described as both intelligent and soulful, thought-provoking and fun. Give has released two official LPs independently to date Rhythm & Poetry (2009, GiveLove Entertainment) and DreamKillerz (2011, SSP Music Group/GiveLove Records, LLC), both of which are available on all major online music stores including iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby etc. DreamKillerz was listed (link hidden) writer Heather Lovejoy as a top ten album (all genres) of 2011 in the Florida Times Union.
The IGive transcends both the hip hop circles and the spoken word realm with his heart-gripping lyricism and crowd-engaging performances. He co-hosted Jacksonville, Florida’s The Cypher Open Mic Poetry & Soul for 3 years ((phone number hidden)1) alongside spoken word poet and multi-slam champion Matthew “Cuban” Hernandez, producer and multi-instrumentalist ill Clinton, DJ Monsta, and poet and activist LoveReigns. The IGive is known for his meaningful, heart-felt rhymes as well as delivering these rhymes with soul-stirring, danceable grooves. Songs like “Not Hate” and “Remember U” have received FM radio airplay and songs like “Here I Am” and “Some Things Gotta Give” along with songs performed as spoken word pieces like “n-word”, “Get Up”, and “Bastard Black” remain crowd favorites.
The IGive has opened up for hip hop legend Big Daddy Kane (2013), penned the theme song for the Savannah Urban Arts Festival (“SUAFed Out”, 2012), and appears consistently on local programming for television stations CW17 and Bounce TV shows YourJax Music hosted by Jake McCain and Music 4 U hosted by Kojo Robinson. He’s been featured in EU Jacksonville Magazine, the Folio Weekly, the Florida Times Union and has made his marks throughout the states of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and Alabama as both a hip hop emcee and as a spoken word poet. The IGive is also an actor landing parts in BeDynamik Productions’ Blak.Woman.Dynamik…ReBoRn stage play (2012) and independent film Treacherous (2010), UNF’s stage play rendition of Gloria Bond Clunie’s North Star (2012), as well as directing and producing his own music videos. He is presently working on his third studio album #RAPDNA with producer Rod Thornton of SouthStyle Productions Music Group, longtime collaborator ill Clinton (link hidden), and Tony White of Tytework Entertainment. #RAPDNA is tentatively set for a 2014 release.
The IGive, like many artists and entertainers, is a dreamer, but also an achiever. He sets out to not only provide high quality music and poetry for entertainment value, but strives to deliver heart-felt and personally-convicted messages that promote positivity, progression, and peace as well as personal therapy for both himself and his listener.
