From the first count-off to the last encore, the group sustains quality and excitement throughout, without becoming loud or obnoxious. This is a band offering performances which draw listeners into the exotic and exciting sounds of classical/jazz/Latin fusion. For those who appreciate beautiful and meticulous smooth sounds, The Jett Quartet delivers. Expect to hear exciting and rhythmic numbers which cause the body to sway and the ear to smile! The Jett Quartet is a professional instrumental ensemble providing light jazz/light classical/smooth jazz/light Latin music for events. The band consists of Jett Cheek (keyboard), Christie A. Wood (flute/alto flute), Jeff Peters (string bass, electronic bass), and Rob Price (drums). Each member of the Quartet is a professional musician with extensive musical training and experience. The group is experienced in providing either pure background music (i.e. cocktails, wedding, corporate function) or as a featured band for festivals (Denton Arts & Jazz Festival, wine festivals, organization feature programs, etc.).
The type of music we provide is a unique and engaging blend of the best of jazz/classical/Latin fusion. This is music which is familiar, but not run-of-the-mill. From the familiar American classical/jazz blended sounds of Gershwin and Duke Ellington, to the excitement of 1950's rhythmic jazz compositions of Dave Brubeck. From the popular "Suite for Flute & Jazz Piano" of French composer Claude Bolling, to the infectious tangos and bossa nova from South American composers Carols Antonio Jobim ("Girl from Ipanema") and Astor Piazzolla. The Jett Quartet plays a beautiful and rich mixture of light classic/jazz/Latin fusion.
We provide our own equipment, microphones, and amps; so there are no worries about set ups for the band.
We provide our own keyboard, amps, and microphones. If performing outdoors, we do require protection from rain/wind.
