Kids LOVE critters! A former teacher with 30 years experience keeping reptiles, "The Lizard Lady" will provide a fun, safe and educational presentation of reptiles and exotics for groups in the Knoxville area, virtually or in person! Presentations are typically one hour featuring 6 animals. DISCLAIMER: While more than 1,000 people have held our animals without a bite, there is always a possibility when you are working with non-domesticated species. All of our animals are disease-free and non-venomous. By booking a contract, you are accepting all liability for injury to event participants or animals.
This was a great event for a 4 year old birthday. Lori did a great job being patient with all of the kids. Great experience.

Lori was incredibly kind and communicative. I really appreciated her calm energy as I had never been around snakes before. She brought butter bee for a photo shoot and we had an excellent experience as we shot different photos with butter bee. Such a great experience getting to experience a gorgeous snake up close. I highly recommend Lori and her reptiles for whatever your event is.

My 9 year old daughter loves reptiles so we hired Lori for her party. She was amazing. She brought some amazing reptiles and the kids and adults loved them. She was also extremely patient as the kids held all her reptiles. I would highly recommend her and will book her again.

The Lizard Lady was super nice and very good with the girls. We had one that was afraid of snakes prior to this and after the party was over I heard her telling her grandmother she wasn’t afraid anymore. It was educational and fun. Highly recommend this experience.

Presentations will be customized and age appropriate for your group. A basic package may include a minimum of 5 live reptiles with a fun and educational presentation, a reptile related game or activity, story-telling, or reptile themed goody bags for participants. Unless games, activities, or goody bags are requested, your quote will include animal presentation and gift for the birthday child only.
My name is Lori Schmidt, alias "The Lizard Lady!" Growing up in South Florida, I was exposed to dozens of reptiles in my area. When I moved to Tennessee for college, I quickly found that there was a need for rehoming reptiles. For the past 30 years I have been involved in rescue work and educational presentations of reptiles. A retired teacher and animal enthusiast, I love spreading my passion and educating others to the unique characteristics of reptiles.
Temperature for presentation area must be between 70-80 degrees. An indoor presentation area is required for the safety of the animals. While we have had over a thousand people hold our animals without a bite, there is always a possibility when you are working with non-domesticated species. All of our animals are disease free and non-venomous. The only instances one of our animals may bite is if it becomes scared by extreme noise, activity or mishandling. By accepting a contract and booking our services, you agree to accept all liability for any injury to event participants.
