Strolling Magic/Networking Generator
Networking success is crucial for attendees to feel they have received the value they are seeking from your conference. You provide the event and Michael James' initiates the networking process with his strolling/close-up magic program. Think of “Strolling Magic” as a magic show that moves with your guests, providing the perfect conversation starter. These "Mini Magic Shows" set people at ease so they can connect, and break the ice by introducing people to each other during short performances.
Michael also brings energy wherever it is needed in the room, turning those areas where energy dips, to a place where the magic is happening! This helps you and your attendees have a more successful event!

Michael James’ passion for magic was ignited at the age of 7, while watching Doug Henning perform on the Muppet Show - Michael’s journey through magic has since taken him from his childhood home in Newfoundland Canada, to Southern California, where he studied sleight of hand with Dale Salwak at the prestigious Chavez Studio of Magic. Michael built and refined his show in the Los Angeles magic scene until 1999 when a 10-day contract lured him to Nova Scotia, where he now resides. Since then, Michael’s reputation as a world class entertainer has led to 50 repeat appearances on CTV’s Breakfast television, two appearances on APTN’s nationally broadcast “The Candy Show” and a contract as the official pre-show act and MC for CBC’s “This Hour Has 22 Minutes”.
Whether you see him perform his signature banquet show or strolling through the crowd on the convention room floor, Michael exquisitely combines his finely developed sleight of hand with a sense of mystery and unique wit to create a highly energized experience that is sure to astound!
Staging Requirements for The Headlining Show
- Minimum 8' deep X 12' wide (Ideally larger)
(A modified version of the show can be performed on a smaller stage)
- If stage is more than 2' hig, stairs to the stage must be provided for audience participation portions of the show. Stairs should be easily accessible from the audience, and if possible, placed at the front of the stage.
- Front row of the audience should be no more that 10 feet from the stage. Closer is acceptable.
Audio Requirements
- Michael will provide his own microphone to be connected to the house PA system.
- Two XLR inputs and a 3.5mm or 1/4" jack for connecting a mp3 player.
- A sound technician highly desirable, but not essential.
No additional equipment is required.
