As a child, I was absolutely convinced that mermaids existed. Between Daryl Hannah’s mesmerizing performance in Splash (1984), Disney’s The Little Mermaid (1989), and the magical world of H2O: Just Add Water, I just knew they were out there.

So as an adult, I decided to become one!

Through my journey of becoming a professional mermaid, I discovered a passion for sharing the magic of the sea with others. My Mer-Mission is to inspire little believers, spark imagination, and bring joy to those who still dream of mermaids.

My ultimate goal is to work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, bringing the wonder of mermaids to children who need it most.

Whether it’s birthday parties, swimming lessons, or storytelling sessions, I hope to create magical experiences for believers of all ages.

Technical & Safety Requirements for Performances and Services
To ensure a safe, seamless, and magical experience, the following guidelines must be met for all Magical Mer Madi performances and services:

Performance Setup & Accessibility
- Pre-Event Setup: The mermaid must be in place before guests arrive—either in the pool or on a provided throne/chair for dry events.
- Wheelchair Accessibility: The entrance and performance area must be wheelchair accessible, as the mermaid will need to be rolled into place in her fin.
- Shade/Weather Considerations: For outdoor events, a shaded area is required for land-based performances to prevent overheating. If shade is unavailable, a backup plan must be arranged.
- Pool Safety & Swimming Guidelines
- Supervision Requirement: A minimum of one designated adult/guardian per 10 children is required for safety.
- No Climbing or Grabbing: Children cannot hold onto or climb on the mermaid while she is swimming, as this can be a drowning risk. However, gentle interaction (such as touching the fin) is allowed when she is sitting on the pool's edge.
- Swim Ability: Pool party guests should have basic water confidence. Non-swimmers must wear flotation devices and be supervised by a guardian at all times.
- Pool Depth & Entry: The pool must be at least 4 feet deep for swimming performances. The mermaid must be able to safely enter the water without using ladders or steps.

Liability & Safety Considerations
- Client Assumes Responsibility: Magical Mer Madi is a performer and not a lifeguard. The event host is responsible for ensuring adequate adult supervision.
- Liability Waiver: By booking a mermaid experience, the client acknowledges the inherent risks of water activities and agrees that Magical Mer Madi is not liable for accidents, injuries, or unforeseen incidents.
- Emergency Plan: The client must have a clear emergency action plan in case of pool-related incidents.

Additional Technical Requirements (For Larger Events & Tank Shows)
- Performance Space & Stage Setup: If performing on stage, an accessible and stable performance area is required.
- Microphone or Sound System: If needed, a lapel or handheld microphone must be provided for large audiences.
- Aquarium/Tank Shows: Any tank performance requires a pre-event consultation to discuss water temperature, tank entry, and breath-holding capabilities.
