Overview
We're three veteran musicians who came off the road to put down roots in San Mateo County. We became The Mighty Thundertones to pay tribute to the peak of the British Blues Rock era. It's the music we love, and the music that inspired us in our youth to become professional musicians.
We cover late 60's and 70's blues rock classics (Led Zeppelin, Beatles, Stones, Bad Co, etc), modernized with current production techniques and original arrangements - Blues Rock re-imagined.
Our computerized digital live rig scales to any size venue by utilizing a silent stage for volume control, and incorporates automated stage lighting and mixing.
1 Review
I've followed the drummer for a long time. Now he's in this band and as musician myself, I'm amazed at how three guys can make such a big sound! Also, the level of their technique, and the tech they use to make it all happen... If you want the best of British Blues Rock from the late 60s and early 70s, check out their cuts on their website.

About
Doug - guitar and lead vocals
Doug is a two-time Grammy nominated guitarist/producer/audio engineer, who’s now retired from a lifetime of international touring and music production work throughout a 40 year professional musical career, as well as helping to startup multiple silicon valley pro audio companies. Doug handles guitars and vocals for The Mighty Thundertones, as well as FX and mix automation, stage lighting design and automation, and audio/video production.
Ed - bass
Ed is one of the bay area’s finest studio and live performance fixtures on bass, as well as a talented manufacturing engineer with many successful products to his credit from Studer, Digidesign, Harmon and Universal Audio among others. Ed was also a founding member of the 70’s bay area blues rock powerhouse “Rockin' Horse”, which to this day is a great inspiration for The Mighty Thundertones and their modernized British Blues Rock revival sound. Ed handles bass, bass synth, and is the technical lead for The Mighty Thundertones.
Tim - drums
Tim has toured the US and Europe as a drummer, percussionist and choral singer, working around his day jobs in music publishing and then tech startups. Although Tim's studies at the University of Miami School of Music were in jazz and classical genres, his true musical passion is for the British blues & rock he grew up listening to that The Mighty Thundertones masterfully interpret for today's audiences. In addition to his drum and percussion duties, Tim manages the band's bookings.
