Lisa Lane Filholm is a seasoned performer, announcer, and voice talent. She earned her B.A. (English Literature) from Colorado College, her M.Ed. (Curriculum and Instruction) from the University of Colorado-Denver, and her professional actor training credentials at Trinity Rep Conservatory in Providence, RI. She has published two books on parenting teenagers as well as two picture books for children. She has written, edited and served as spokesperson for freelance and contract clients including: Your Teen Magazine, St. Anthony Messenger, Lever Brothers, The Pardee Center for International Futures at the University of Denver, Colorado Department of Transportation, Winter Park/Mary Jane Ski Resort, Whole Fresh Foods, Colorado College Admissions and Brothers of the Christian Schools/District of New Orleans-Santa Fe. She has recently been quoted on raising adolescents in the L.A. Times, Colorado Parent Magazine and on National Public Radio's Morning Edition.
Flexible, adaptable, and tech-savvy: Lisa is comfortable with everything from high-tech performing venues to makeshift systems in school cafeterias. She has her own professional recording studio and portable audio equipment suitable for small to medium spaces (microphone, speakers, stands, cable, spotlight).
When she brings her energy to live events, Lisa is inspired by the classic idea of a ringmaster at the circus. She is poised, confident, calm, and able to keep all the balls in the air at once, even with lots of distraction. Like a ringmaster, she serves as a friendly guide for the audience (or participants): she focuses their attention (and often, their money) in the right places, reminds them of vital messages, and takes them on a journey which allows them to fully enjoy the experience.
As a comedian, Lisa takes her inspiration from the strong, feminine, joyful stylings of Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Heather McDonald. Her precise, polished writing and delivery are inspired by the likes of John Mulaney and old-school Lily Tomlin.
