The Optimist

My name is Tyrone Starkie, Despite being born with Muscular Dystrophy I’ve lived a very independent life. I finished high school in a traditional setting, obtained my Associate's degree in Human Service’s, Bachelor’s in Psychology, and a Master’s in Psychology. I’ve been working part-time at Wayne Community College since 2010. I have over 10 years of education in psychology and human services, five years work experience as an Achievement Coach, four years as a Minority Male Mentor Advisor, one year experience as a Minority Male Mentor Coordinator. I taught my first N.C. Wesleyan College course in January 2016. I am looking forward to teaching my second course in October. My wife and I have been married for four years now. We had our first child November 05, 2016 a handsome boy.
