The Scarolers

We typically arrive 30 to 60 minutes in advance of the agreed start time; this is negotiable is you have specific needs. If you have a room available where we can put on or touch up our makeup that can be helpful, but it's not strictly necessary as long as we have advance notice.

We require at least one 10-minute break every hour. Besides our break times, we will stay completely in character as Undead Carolers, or SCAROLERS. We do more "campy" horror than real horror. We have a roster of about 30 singers, all of whom are consummate professionals with extensive singing and acting experience. We are associated with The Other Reindeer Carolers, if you want to peruse our reviews there.

The Scarolers is a spin-off act of The Other Reindeer Carolers. We enjoy caroling so much that we wanted to see if it could be adapted for other holidays, and Halloween was our first victim - er, rather, our first alternative venture. Our scaroling repertoire is growing at a rapid pace, and we already have enough to perform for at least two hours without repeating songs. All of the lyrics to our "scarodies" are original, and our performance is probably more funny than scary, unless you are a very young child!

Most of the Scarolers are professional singers who earn a living performing. We have been trained by professional make-up artists to put on make-up that reads as "zombie" from near or far, and our costumes are designed to evoke a "The Nightmare Before Christmas" kind of vibe. We are probably the liveliest Undead singers you will ever see, especially when singing songs like "Thriller" or the theme song from Ghostbusters.

We have performed at malls, at office parties, and at house parties. We can also perform at haunted houses, Halloween parties, theme parks, and any special event with a gothic or horror theme. You may have heard other Halloween singers or Halloween singing groups, but you haven't truly heard Halloween A Cappella until you've heard the SCAROLERS!

We typically perform unamplified, as that keeps us mobile and able to interact with more people in a more intimate way. However, we can provide a sound system in most cases for an additional fee; please inquire.

We are happy to perform outside unless the weather does not permit, so if you plan for us to perform outside, we will ask that you have an alternative plan in the event of inclement weather.

We do not need a stage or defined performance area; we can roam while performing, although we are happy to perform on a stage if you would like us to do so.

We appreciate having a green room or place to get ready to perform, especially if we are traveling a long distance to be there, but it's not necessary for local engagements (although still appreciated!)
