The Scott-Heron Experience

Gia Scott-Heron brings "edutainment" when she rips the mic. Not only does this spoken veteran spit poetry, she raps, sings and educates as well. Be prepared to be engaged, informed, riveted and inspired by her words and her presence. As the daughter of the late Gil Scott-Heron, she keeps his legacy alive with an eclectic set, which will sometimes include monologues, storytelling, and some of the musicians most famous spoken word pieces as well as her own.
Not only does Miss Gia perform some if Father's work, she performs her own material as well. Her body of work spans 10 years of performing, and more than 15 years of writing. Audience members will leave feeling revitalized, motivated and moved.

Please be clear if you would like spoken word/ performance poetry only, or if you would like the "full" experience which includes a 3 piece band. The price will increase if band members are expected. In addition to being a spoken word artist, she is a singer and rapper as well. When she sings her original material, she does so with a band known as "Clear Soul". Additional cables, equipment and arrangements will need to be made for the group to perform as a collective so it is imperative that the organizer be clear what is needed for the event.
When performing on her own, Miss Gia is electric. She ignites the stage with her fiery repertoire. She can readily perform a series of her own poetic works as well as a few of her Dad's more famous pieces depending on stage time.
