Live Jazz To Elevate Any Event! The Secret Jazz Band creates a unique, upbeat & classy atmosphere for your event by performing an authentic mix of Classic Jazz Standards, Big Band Swing & Bossa Nova.
A perfect fit to complement event themes such as 1920's Great Gatsby, Old Hollywood & the Speakeasy Clubs of the stylish 'Jazz Age.' The band can keep it background for cocktails & mingling or liven up the dance floor if that is where your party wants to go!
Past venues include the world famous House of Blues, The Queen Mary & The Catalina Jazz Club.

Best part of our event was our live trio jazz band. Nothing could set the mood better than them. We received tons of compliments on our band choice. The Secret Jazz Band played during my husband’s surprise birthday dinner. I highly recommend this band. Five stars from all angles. Their being there took my soiree from being just another dinner all the way to « a truly elegant affair ». Seriously.
Katie (the super talented vocalist) was the sweetest —from our very initial engagement to our last. She and her band members were early for set-up. Their calmness and confidence really helped put me at ease. Katie’s voice and her band members’ instrumentals were 10/10 flawless. They presented themselves professionally. Their breaks and exit were smooth and unnoticeable. The cake-cutting tune they played was most adorable — a sweet surprise that my husband and I recalled and sang again later LOL. So many of my guests complimented the band and asked how I found them. Literally everything was just above and beyond about The Secret Jazz Band.

I always wanted to hire a live band for any event, this time it was for my 60th birthday party at a reserved space at the Orange Hill Restaurant in Orange, CA. Katie is a doll and so sweet, she worked out a good rate to fit my entertainment budget and she was on top of all communications via email, text or by phone. Since my venue only allowed 4 hours for the party and I wanted dancing, Katie offered additional service which was to create a playlist which she would play once live band was done and it was a total SUCCESS! I will definitely use them again!

I organized an event that was held at the Palm Springs Air Museum and I was looking for live entertainment. I reached out to The Secret Jazz Band for information. I just love this band! We hired them for our Open House Holiday Party and they set the tone for the entire event! They communicated excellent prior to the event, asked all the right questions and gave me all the information to anticipate what they needed. Our Senior Living Community held a Jazz Night Dinner Show Alzheimer's Fundraising Event in July. The music could not have been more perfect. What an amazing musical experience. This band clearly could play any genre, but they specialize in vintage work of Gershwin, Berlin, etc. Front and center of the quartet is the lead singer, charismatic Katie Harris. Her sensitive interpretations of legendary love songs and sassy swing tunes is captivating She evokes stylings of Peggy Lee and Sarah Vaughn, but is uniquely her own artist. Some of LA's best recording session musicians accompany her brilliantly. But the best judge of any event is the audience--smiling, bouncing, and on their feet at the end! I was one of them.

About
It is an eclectic musical journey that has seen Katie Harris work professionally in the rock, pop, and jazz worlds as a touring musician, studio musician, songwriter, and bandleader. She has contributed to music heard in film and television including Legally Blonde (MGM), What Lies Beneath (DreamWorks), Ugly Betty (ABC), The Road To Stardom With Missy Elliott (UPN), and a most recently recorded original song “This Hollow Heart” which was featured in the 2018 film Spare Room - currently streaming on Amazon.
She shares the love of jazz music with husband/drummer Tom Brayton with their joint project “The Secret Jazz Band.” The two have performed in such venues as The House of Blues (Anaheim), The Catalina Jazz Club (Hollywood), and The Segerstrom Center for the Arts. With The Secret Jazz Band, Katie and Tom have had the privilege of playing with some of L.A.’s best jazz musicians who have performed with the likes of Jane Monheit, Royal Crown Revue, Engelbert Humperdinck, and Jane Lynch.
Katie’s early jazz recordings were produced and recorded by her Dad, the legendary Johnny Harris who has worked with Tom Jones, Paul Anka, Petula Clark, and Nancy Sinatra.
Additional Booking Notes
The Secret Jazz Band is a completely self-contained band. The band comes with its own sound system, stage lights, and pre-recorded background music during band breaks. We can also provide a wireless microphone for your speeches, toasts, and announcements.
