The Shades- a trio featuring Andrew DeMuro (from Season 11 of NBC's The Voice) and brothers Phil and Mark Jacobson- have developed a signature sound that encompasses elements of pop, rock, folk, soul & R&B. Impressive arrangements and tight harmonies are the hallmarks of The Shades’ music. In 2015, their song, ‘Take You Home,’ was featured in American Songwriter Magazine and they were chosen as a top ten finalist in NewSong Music’s International Songwriting Competition. Besides their original music, they cover songs ranging from The Beatles to modern day artists such as Bruno Mars and John Mayer.
Andrew and The Shades were wonderful to work with. Everything from the initial discussion, the booking experience, and the performance at our event was a pleasure. We held a corporate partner event at The Signature Room at the 95th where they performed.

Can you give 10 stars? Professional, inspired, gorgeous singing and playing in every style we wanted from rock to R&B to country... The Shades made our wedding spectacular. They happily learned the songs we wanted to hear at the most important moments in our ceremony (and left no dry eyes!) then got everyone out on the dance floor with their engaging, enthusiastic performances. We wanted a band that was just right for us, and we couldn't have asked for anything more. Thank you Andrew and all for helping make memories!

After receiving nationwide honors when lead vocalist Andrew DeMuro landed a spot on ‘Team Adam’ in Season 11 of NBC’s ‘The Voice’, The Shades released their first major recorded effort in October 2017 – a six-song EP entitled Miles Made of Inches.
This past fall, their most recent EP - 'DRAW', was exclusively premiered by Billboard in October 2019 and is available on all major streaming platforms.
