The Smoky Dunes are a Wilmington based bluegrass duo comprised of guitarists Drew Walker and Marshall Brown. They have immersed themselves in the traditional styles of acoustic fingerpicking and flat-picking and call on tunes from the many musical tributaries of Appalachian folk music. They're sure to bring those high lonesome harmonies, flat-picking standards, and finger bustin' Merle Travis tunes, but also offer original songs off their recently released debut EP. The Smoky Dunes have been featured in music venues across Wilmington as well as on WECT News and Thalian Hall. The Smoky Dunes also feel equally comfortable fitting the mood at weddings, private parties, and corporate events.
We loved everything about these guys - excellent communications, kind, thorough and gentle engagement, and entertaining and talented bluegrass musicians! They provided the perfect background to my fathers celebration of life event and would hire them for any event for that matter. Highly recommend.
