Locked in an enchantingly timeless surge of creative energy, The Sunshowers emerge as an incredible force of nature spreading their musical passion wherever they may be. This Indie group based out of the alluring sands of beautiful Virginia Beach, VA, fuses together sound with the ceaseless flow of the various moments of now like the intoxicating splash of colors painted in the captivating sunset sky. Fronted by Amy & Jason, also known as acoustic duo The Lovebirds, The Sunshowers delve deep into musical celebration. Together, Amy & Jason share their love not just for each other but for life and music, wearing their expressive hearts on the sleeve of their writing and performing. Supported by the formidable foundation of Eric Hansen on the deep rumbling bass and the avalanche of enveloping rhythm that is Dave Smith, The Sunshowers explore the landscape of music and delight, creating an entirely unique, enticingly entrancing Sunshower experience.
Amy Celeste Young-Beard swims confidently in a sea of creative bliss. An accomplished and recognized artist of several media, her output is expansive and unlimited by constraints or conventions. Her songwriting is unique; both familiar and inviting while simultaneously distant and otherworldly. Through it all her voice welcomes you as a dear friend, beckoning you to sit with her beside the fire and hear a story or two.
Jason W. McKinzie follows in the tradition of tunesmiths throughout time immemorial, dipping his musical cup gratefully into the river of those who have come before him. Music is the air he breathes. Genres are no obstacle for this composer. Walls are meant for climbing, and the illusory walls of art are no exception.
Eric Hansen has been playing stringed instruments for over 50 years on a colorful path spawning from the Woodstock generation and the Greenwich Village scene. The sole and essence of music passages led him to focusing on the bass as a true core of passionate expression and direction. His large top hat is in reality a prosthetic brain which helps him remember the chords and bass lines to the songs.
Dave Smith is a rumbling avalanche of sound. You feel him coming before he even rounds the corner. With a background that includes audio engineering/producing as well as singing and songwriting, Dave consistently impresses audiences with his solid chops and dramatic flair.
The Sunshowers are a cool blast of fresh air. Their groovy good time tunes will keep your toes tapping till the wee hours, with a mixture of golden oldies, classic rock, classic country, and straight up rock 'n' roll.
