Once a foster child herself, she built a career in the nonprofit sector as a former Director of Operations at Youth Alive mentoring over 200 youth. While under her leadership, they could send talented youth to top universities and private schools, and one of their success stories featured on Oprah.
Today Maisha continues to speak to at-risk youth, their carers, and educators at events across the Midwest. She has continued her training as a fundraising specialist in various key positions throughout her career of over 20 years.
Maisha’s career highlights include starting a ground floor nonprofit organization at age 23 and growing its budget from $5 000 to $500 000 under 5 years. Another is co-founding investment management company, Supreme International Inc. alongside her partner and seeing it create over 10 global spinoffs of the same business model. She was also recognized for the significant turnaround of Hope for Women Magazine in a brief space of time while under her guidance as marketing director.
