Began performing at 10 years old in family band as the lead singer & guitarist. As an adult, Zelany has been studying Selena Quintanilla's iconic dance moves and style of singing to bring you the best Selena show you will ever see.
She was a pleasure to work with, very professional and my guests loved it.

My name is Zelany and I am a Selena Tribute Artist residing in Las Vegas, NV. On off days I enjoy recording covers and original songs in my tiny studio at home. The songs I write are true to life events that happened in my life, some great and some not so great but all consist of messages people can relate to. If there is one thing that resounds in my music is hope and inspiration to keep moving forward past all obstacles this life may bring. I count it a blessing to know what my passion is and have the opportunity to share of myself to the world thru music.
At the age of 10 I joined my father’s family band in Santa Ana, California in which I played the guitar and sang lead vocals. We played latin songs and oldies in English. My older brother played drums, my stepmom played bass and my father played the keyboard. We were brought up practicing in our garage and the money we got from gigs was how we paid for most of the house bills. A typical Saturday gig for us consisted of performing from 6pm to 11pm at weddings, birthdays, and other special events. Discipline was a big factor in our family and we took pride in our work.
As a teenager, I auditioned for the Music & Theatre conservatory at Orange County School of Arts. I learned from professionals, studied voice, acting and dance. The last 2 years at this school, I transferred into the Production & Design conservatory in which I learned to appreciate the other side of theatre, the back stage work. Here I learned everything from costume design to audio engineering and how to work light boards. It helped me become even more well rounded as a performer and discovered that my passion was not only in performing but in creating my own costumes, sets and music from scratch. To me it was all a work of art.
After High School, my family motivated me to audition for a singing talent contest which would become one of the most famous shows on Spanish television on Telefutura and the Univision outlet in Puerto Rico. Auditions were held throughout the United States and at the age of 18 I made it into this competition called Objetivo Fama. Along with seventeen other young adults chosen from across the nation, I traveled to Puerto Rico where the show and competition took place. During this competition, we would sing live in front of hundreds of people who voted every week for their favorite contestants. The gala performance is one I will never forget and is one of the most memorable moments of my life. We performed at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente which is a sports arena in Puerto Rico in front of nearly 9,000 attendees. We sang along side famous Latin artists such as Chayanne, Ivy Queen, Camila Band, Reik, Yuri, and so on.
After Objetivo Fama, I moved to Las Vegas and have performed as a solo artist and played guitar for couple bands in this city. In May of 2021 is when I officially started my biggest gig as a Selena tribute artist. At the beginning of that month, I visited Cat’s Meow karaoke in Las Vegas just for fun. It was my birthday so being the spontaneous performer I am, I sang Selena’s most famous song “Como La Flor”. After getting off stage, I was offered a gig as the “Selena” for the karaoke’s weekly tribute night shows. For years I had been a fan of Selena Quintanilla and would imitate her at home but it wasn’t until this moment that I realized my potential to be a tribute artist for my biggest childhood role model, Selena. At Cat’s Meow I had the honor of performing with excellent tribute artists who impersonate Lady Gaga, Tina Turner, Elvis, Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, and others. I have since then performed at weddings, birthdays, adult day care centers and other special events.
It brings me so much joy to be able to bring a smile to the crowds and see them have a great time as we sing along to my favorite female artist, Selena. I take pride in what I do and study my role to become better every time. I strive for my dance moves, voice, gestures, and overall appearance to look closer to Selena’s so that I am able to bring her essence back to life the very moment I step on stage. I am grateful for the people who have given me opportunities to perform and excited for the many more places and people this journey will allow me to meet.
If no sound system is already provided, I can bring my own speaker and mic.
