The Wings of Swing Big Band performs in the traditional big band style from the 30's & 40's to the music style of Dianna Krall, Michael Buble' and Frank Sinatra. The band consists of nine to seventeen members and includes an amazingly talented female vocalist. The professionals in The Wings of Swing consists of former military musicians and music educators, all of whom have performed professionally. We specialist in corporate events and large civic functions, and also perform for military reunions, weddings, and private parties and dances.
This 17 piece band with vocals inspired the Springfield Chamber Annual Meeting. The theme was Under the Sea, and the Wings of Swing was perfect for this event. Rick communicated well after he was booked. The band quickly cleaned up with no disruption to the event. The band could have been smaller, but we wanted the full effect. The entire band very professional and really talented.
The band was absolutely incredible! They had a fantastic female vocalist who carried off the "torch songs" just like the original material. She was very well suited to the musical selections and the venue. The band showed its versatility on several occasions by varying WWII-type big band sounds with more current tunes. They put on an incredible show and I would recommend them highly to anyone who asks. I am a musician as well and quite critical of the music I hear. This recommendation does not come lightly. You will NOT be disappointed.
The charity event they played for was a "Snowball Senior Prom," dedicated to senior citizens in our area. There were times when the entire audience was up and dancing. They audience enjoyed them immensely as well...
