Overview
The WIXY 1260's are a Vegas style show band paying tribute to the AM radio music between 1965 and 1975 with nostalgic hits rarely heard today but are etched in the minds of anyone over the age of 40. Both waves of British Invasion bands are covered as well as Motown, surf, and the long-haired, peace loving American hippy music of that era. So, put on your bell bottom jeans, your smiley face t-shirt or paisley long sleeve, and your peace sign necklace. Load up the gang in the VW bus with shag carpet on the inside and the "Keep on Truckin" bumper sticker and join us for a trip back in time. You can't help but tap your feet to the beat and sing along with the WIXY 1260's.

What to Expect
The WIXY 1260's will provide up to 5 hours of live music with minimal breaks between where recorded music may be played through the PA system. We can provide our own sound system and some stage lighting if needed. We have everything needed for a professional presentation. You can expect sore feet and a good night's sleep after dancing all day or evening to The WIXY 1260's
About
The WIXY 1260's are a full 4 piece band of seasoned musicians playing all the great oldies. With Rodger Marcus on guitar, John Bodeker on keys, Rick Hulvalchick on bass, and Bruce Pearce on drums, we have a combined 150+ years of professional music experience in the northeast Ohio area. The four unique vocalists take turns singing lead and providing backup harmonies that recreate a sound so similar to the originals you can close your eyes and envision those bands of yesteryear. But don't close them too long because you won't want to miss the antics onstage. The energy is electrifying and contagious. The pace is fast and you will barely have time to catch your breath before the next great song begins. Our song list is always expanding and includes only the best upbeat music from the time after the Beatles landed in America and before disco and the hair bands took to the airwaves. Back then most cars only had an AM radio and in Cleveland there was only one station to listen to. That was Superstation, WIXY 1260. Of course, the Beatles dominated the charts in the 1960's but other British Invasion bands made their presence known as well. At a WIXY 1260's gig you can count on hearing the Who, Rolling Stones, Kinks, Hollies, Dave Clark Five, Herman's Hermits, Buckinghams and more. We also cover many American bands like Paul Revere and the Raiders, Monkees, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Three Dog Night, and Tommy James and the Shondells. You will hear a lot of songs you probably haven't heard in 30 years or more. We pride ourselves in choosing a diverse blend of old familiar songs that aren't overplayed on the radio or by other bands. You will know all the words and find it impossible not to sing along. You will be reminded of school days, first dates, first cars, first concerts, and the first time you saw a band on Ed Sullivan or American Bandstand. The WIXY 1260's are sure to bring back vivid memories and put a smile on your face.
Additional Booking Notes
We have a brand new state of the art PA system, including 4 wireless digital microphones, wireless in-ear monitors, and Bose column speakers for evenly distributed sound (Never too loud. What you hear up front is what you hear in the back of the room.)
