Who Are We
Diane Tropea & Don Hubbard have been performing all around the Austin area since 2016. Diane has been singing since early childhood, did some LA touring in her college days, and lives and works in Hill Country north of Austin. Her vocals are superb and one of those must hear voices. Diane also performs regularly with the 18-piece Big Band (Not Past 11) out of Georgetown Texas.

Don Hubbard plays lead and rhythm guitar and provides backup vocals for The Decades Band. He is retired Navy and has worked for the past 15 years for the State of Texas. In addition to playing regular acoustic and electric guitar, he plays multiple guitar-synth lead instruments to add variety to the music. Using synth instruments allows adding additional instruments without requiring more band members, which in turn keeps band prices low. During any given song you may hear any number of lead instruments, including Sax, Trombone, Piano, Organ, Trumpet, Vibes, Clarinet, Flute, Harmonica, or Accordion.

' The Decades Band ' also known as ' The Decades Of Austin ' just completed its 500th live performance in the Austin area. The unique mix of music genres, decades, and varied lead instruments makes the band more flexible so it can more easily adapt to the vibe needed for your event. We perform at corporate events, weddings, anniversary or birthday parties, outdoor festivals, fundraisers, dinner dance and cocktail parties. Our music might be cocktail hour background music one minute, and quickly switch to lively raise-the-roof dance music the next. We are among the most flexible bands when it comes to adapting our music and vibe to your event.

How would we describe our sound?
If you walked into a venue where we are playing with a blindfold on, you would probably assume you were listening to a 4-5 piece band. We have carefully created a sound mix with lead instruments inserted provide a much richer big band sound than you would normally expect for a duo or trio band. We are therefore able to offer you that bigger band sound but at a smaller band price. As for how audiences and venues judge us, please don't take our word for it. We encourage you to take a careful listen to our sample music, contact our references, or better yet come see us live before deciding.
