Originally from southern New Hampshire, Theresa Illich studied flute performance and music education at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst where her principle teacher was Chris Krueger. In Amherst Theresa has performed with the UMass Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra as well as with the Amherst College Symphony Orchestra in select concerts. In a chamber music setting, she has participated in woodwind quintet, flute choir, and other small groups including saxophone, percussion, and guitar. In February of 2013, Theresa presented her Junior Recital, performing works by J.S. Bach, Ibert, Clarke, and Debussy. This past April she gave her senior recital which included works by Jacob T.V., J.S. Bach, Martin, Piazzolla, and Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf.
Theresa currently teaches a small studio of flutists ranging from beginner to advanced in level, and from middle school through adulthood in age. She is currently based in Amherst MA, and has also taught briefly in New Hampshire.
