Thom Moore, The Happy Bagpiper

Thom performed at my mom’s funeral and it was beautiful. His communication is quick and detailed. I knew I made the absolute right selection for a musician. Very talented!

My husband is a huge fan of the bagpipes, so I decided to hire Thom as a wedding surprise for him. After the ceremony & we were taking pictures, Thom popped out of the blue playing his favorite song. He was so pleasantly surprised, I couldn't have asked for it to go any better! Thank you so much, Thom! Everyone loved you.

I can’t even begin to express my gratitude towards Thom and his performance at my husband and I’s wedding. This is my husband’s 2nd marriage and during hsi first wedding, his mother was not very involved. We wanted to make a point this time to ensure she received the special treatment she deserved. After all, she got him to me!! His morher is 100% Scottish and I reached out to Thom explaining the situation and asking for his advice. He messaged me right away. He had a ton of ideas, explained to me the typical role of the bagpipe and the importance of it. This was extremely helpful, as I had no idea where to begin. Fast forward to our wedding day, my father and I had our first dance and next came my husband and his mom. As soon as the bagpipe started, she began to cry. As did many of our guests. Thom truly created a magical moment athat we will never forget and I am truly grateful. His song was a beautiful tribute to my husband’s family and they were blown away. Thank you so much!! I hired Mr. Moore for a memorial service. He was always available to me via email before hand and answered any questions or concerns very promptly. He arrived on time, performed beautifully and even played outside the church while guests were leaving even though I had not requested nor paid for that extra bit of time. I would hire him again without hesitation.

Thom arrived ahead schedule and from the start he was nothing but friendly and professional. Thom has a great sense of humor and actually hopped into some of our first prayer pictures before heading off to start playing! Thom gave a 30 minute customized bagpiping performance for my parents on mother's day that they greatly enjoyed. He spent time at the end of the performance to talk about bagpiping and his work. He also played an extra song for a young neighborhood boy as he returned to his car. It was a great event!

My wedding day perfect, the happiest day of my life. And I couldn’t have been more thrilled with Thomas. He totally surpassed his name “the happy bagpiper”! He was super friendly, came in a beautiful attire with tribute to both mine and my husband’s heritage. The music was beautiful, perfectly performed. Thom came and played as our guests arrived at our wedding and was a cool and unique way to start off the day! He then stayed and played the hora and really for the party started. The amount of compliments we received from friends and family about him and the way he blended both our cultures was amazing! If I could give 10 stars I would!

We are so blessed to have found Thom. Neither pandemic nor flooding could stop The Happy Bagpiper from performing on our special day. We were so excited to surprise my Irish father-in-law with a magical bagpipe performance in the middle of the woods and not only did Thom absolutely deliver on the magic, he became friends with every single member of our wedding party including our 3-year old ring bearer who was scared at first at the power of the music but then quickly warmed to our gentle visitor. Thom played at my stepfather's funeral. From the time I first contacted Thom through his playing at the gravesite, Thom responded quickly & was very flexible with the church & funeral director in what they had already planned. Thom drove 120+ miles each way to provide an absolutely stellar tribute to my stepfather. My mother & entire family (40+) were thrilled with what Thom did. Thom showed up on time where he needed to be and was a wonderful blessing to my family and friends. We originally had a family friend who was going to bagpipe but at last minute was unable to show up. My Mother so wanted the bagpipes at her funeral service and I found this wonderful service online and Thom came through at the last minute!!

Used Thom for my sons wedding.Communication was excellent.Discussed music to be played and personalized his repertoire to include our requests at nd had some great additional suggestions.Arrived promptly and cooperated to keep his contribution a surprise. All aspects of our interaction was professional and friendly.His piping was excellent and his traditional attire a popular photography opportunity.Highly recommend Thom and would certainly use him again.

Thom was not able to make my function due to a family obligation. However, he highly recommended major Johnson which i was fine with. We exchanged info and i requested that he come to Tendenza at 5 and play as guests arrived, until 5:30. At 5 i started looking for him. Long story short he went to the wrong cescaphe site and did not get to correct location until 5:15. I never saw nor heard any bagpipes. He did play for 15 mins, however most guests were inside by then. To say i was disappointed is an understatement. Also, he never apologized to me! He apologized to wedding coordinator, however, she didnt pay the $250 (plus tip) i did. My son took a picture of him and thats all i have.
Very, very disappointed. My daughter never got to hear him. Of course, he didnt go to the wrong location on purpose, but if he had read my email correctly, it did state Tendenza.

Thom, greeted our son and daughter’s wedding guests as they arrived at French Creek. He helped set a very positive mood to start our special evening. Right from the beginning of the booking process through to the end Thom was great to work with. The highlight was when he piped the bride and the groom into the reception playing Bruno Mar’s marry me - which he learned for our event. We look forward to booking Thom again for another family event.

Thom Moore made my daughter’s wedding day that much more special! It was a surprise to her to have bag pipes playing as she arrived to the church. He lead her into the church and went down the isle playing as the entire wedding party followed. He also played as people exited the church after the mass. My daughter came into the church with a smile that remained on her face the entire night!

At the last minute I decided to try and find a bagpiper to play at our house on Father's Day. The specific date was extremely special as it was also my husband and I's anniversary. I heard back from many bagpipers but Thom was the only person to include a personal reply that felt kind and very enthusiastic about the opportunity. His expertise was paramount and honestly he was one of the best bagpipers I've had the pleasure of listening to. Even more so, his friendliness and ability to engage my family, both adults and children, was what made him so enjoyable. My family loved listening and getting to know Thom and we HIGHLY recommend him to anyone looking for an amazing bagpiper experience. We hope to have him play for us again!

Mr. Moore was nicely dressed in kilt attire, began exactly on cue at end of wedding playing Highland Cathedral with the organ as bride and groom exited. Guests were very moved and absolutely loved it, as did the bride and groom.He played for a while afterward, a little distance away so as not to disrupt the conversations while the bride and groom greeted guests. He was very easy to work with and was dependable, arriving on time, and performing just as requested. It was nothing short of perfect.

Piper Thom was professional and engaging. He even piped the Happy Birthday song. He went along with our requests. We wanted to have a group parade and Thom happily led us. Some of our lively group wore kilts and did a jig while Thom piped. Made our Mom feel very special and she loved every second of it.

Thom played for my wedding yesterday as a surprise for my father and my now husband. I know that the moment we were about to walk to walk down the aisle and my dad heard the pipes - I felt his arm stiffen up and he took a deep breath and that moment was just made all the more special. My husband remarked that he was blown away when he heard the pipes and it was just a special moment made all the more special.

Working with Thom can be described as nothing less than a complete delight. Thom made excellent suggestions and was able to help me choose the best songs to play- and he played them beautifully.
