LJ the DJ, better known is Larry Thompson is a Professional DJ, Announcer and Emcee for a variety of events but primarily specializes in DJ & Emcee services for Weddings, Fundraisers & Special Events. Larry began his professional DJ career providing only music services in June of 1995. At this time, Larry was still in middle school where he was also active in the Band. Moving into High School, Larry became active in the Marching, Concert, Pep and Jazz Band until his departure after Graduation.
A native of Canton, Ohio, Larry specializes in all sorts of music and does not prefer one genre over another but rather enjoys personalizing events to suit their taste for musical entertainment. Larry has served as a Radio and Talk Show Host for the East Atlantic Radio Network. Larry has also had the privilege of announcing for the Center Ice Skating Club, Stark County Fair and Wildcat Youth Basketball Association.
Today, Larry provides high-quality Entertainment services customized to each event. Larry is able to provide a low-key/formal environment or help create a high-energy festive atmosphere through crowd interaction depending on the event and your vision. Larry also enjoys working closely with his clients to "go beyond the call of duty" and exceed client expectations.
As a condition of Thompson Entertainment's performance, clients hereby agree to provide or make arrangements with the event venue for the following to be provided (either by the venue or the client):
1. Access to the venue at the agreed upon setup time either by unlocking the doors or meeting Thompson Entertainment. Failure to provide adequate setup time either by the client and/or venue may result in the services being revised to accommodate the permitted setup time without refund.
2. One 6' or 8' sturdy rectangular table, skirted & clothed (if available), positioned on a level surface. If skirting and/or clothing is not available, please contact us.
3. A minimum of one, 110v 15 or 20 amp (3 prong) grounded electrical outlet within 50 feet of the designed DJ setup space. If the venue is unable to furnish a suitable power source, it shall be the clients responsibility to provide adequate power by either a. running additional power cords to a suitable power source meeting the above requirements or b. securing a power generator at the client's own expense.
4. A safe working environment. This shall include assigning the DJ to setup in an area that will not expose Thompson Entertainment, it's representatives or equipment to outdoor elements (excessive sunlight, rain/snow, etc). Recommendations include setting the DJ under a canopy, awning, patio or garage.
5. Meals for Thompson Entertainment staff in attendance (two are generally assigned to an event)
