I provide several types of ensembles - a duo, trio, quartet and larger ensembles for any event. My ensembles regularly play at many locations in Chicago, the north shore and surrounding suburbs. Our repertoire includes jazz swing standards, popular music, latin, rock and can be tailored to the clients wishes. References can be provided.
Kurt Loeffler leads fabulous music groups and performs at the retirement community I work at frequently, and my residents ALWAYS love them and ask for them to return! Kurt is an excellent drummer, Dean is a fabulous pianist, and the other musicians and vocalists they work with are extremely talented!
Kurt is really easy to work with and his prices are reasonable. He's very knowledgeable and entertaining. We will definitely continue to work with him and look forward to another performance!

At any of my performances you will see that we have solid repertoire featuring accomplished performers and a variety of vocalists. The personnel are well prepared for each performance. They arrive plenty of time in advance to set up their own equipment, dress appropriately and are cordial with the audience. I tailor the repertoire to fit the desires of the client and if necessary, I will assist in providing suggestions.
Kurt Loeffler began performing drum set as a teen and eventually migrated to studying the entire percussion family of instruments while still in high school. He then attended the University of Michigan's School of Music where he studied classical orchestral percussion with Michael Udow, and jazz vibraphone and marimba with Ted Piltzecker. After graduating from Michigan, he furthered his jazz studies at DePaul University and studied jazz piano, keyboard harmony and theory with master jazz educator and publisher Alan Swain. He has continued his education throughout the years and in 2010 completed his Master's certification in Arranging through the Berklee School of Music. In 2018, he completed his Masters degree in Jazz studies at the University of Illinois School of Music. He leads and actively performs in the Chicagoland area with several different ensembles (duo, trio, quartet, and even a "mini" big band) and features a variety of vocalists.
We require a flat playing surface and easy access to a few electrical outlets for keyboards, and a P.A. system. If the venue is taking place outside it has to be warm enough for the instruments not to be damaged. Please contact me if you're not sure about your venue and we can work something out.
The list of musicians that have influenced would be to long to list. In general, though all of us have received formal music school educations in classical and jazz we keep an open mind and play many styles from many eras. Jazz, rock, country, latin, popular, etc
In most cases we bring our own equipment. If you do have a piano please make sure it's in good shape and recently tuned.
