Actor, voiceover artist, emcee & host!
I have been performing my entire life and received my degree in acting from UCLA in 2011. Trained for the stage and screen, I bring presence, great vocal energy and physicality that inspires audiences. I am most famous for my role as Yo-Yo Santos in the comedic movie "The Internship," starring Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson.
I am also a veteran of the hospitality industry, with over 10 years of experience in upscale restaurants. I can bring to your event quality customer service and great work ethic.
As a Filipino American myself, I specialize in Filipino cultural celebrations: debuts, cotillions, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, and more!
Tobit really impressed us! I asked him to be the host for my daughter's 18th birthday after I saw him at an event last year. He has a lot of energy and knows how to make everyone feel excited. When I hired him I was surprised by how professional he was. He was very responsive when I communicated with him. He prepared ahead of time and even came up with a fun trivia game for the guests when my daughter was changing during the party. I got a lot of compliments on how smoothly run our event went. I think if you are looking to make your next celebration special, you should consider Tobit!
Response from Tobit Raphael Capati - Actor / Emcee:
Hi Rosanna! Thank you for the kind review :) I enjoyed working with you. I’m so glad to hear you received compliments on your daughter’s party. It was so much fun! Please keep me in mind for any future needs and I wish you and your family well. Take care!

You can expect a Master of Ceremonies who is well-dressed, stylish, youthful, energetic, and refreshing! Or how about one who is also charismatic, kind, hospitable, and full of genuine humor? I'm that too!
I hold all these qualities and more. Leading up to the event you can expect reliability and organization. I like to stay communicative and prepare as needed, often times with a loose script, so event hosts, other important vendors, and myself are all on the same page.
At your event you can be certain your guests will be entertained by an infectious physical and vocal energy. As a performer I value flexibility, adaptability, and problem solving. All these help to adjust the night on the fly, like improvising off the script as needed. My eye for detail helps me respond to situations or moods appropriately. When I am required to direct attention of the event, I bring respect and focus.
Within "filler" portions of the program, you can expect opportunities for me to bring entertainment to your guests. For example, during an outfit change, I often work the crowd as a trivia games host. Here I bring an ease to interacting with the audience, deftly balancing focus on cues to move the program forward with kind, humorous one-on-one rapport.
When it comes to emceeing for Filipino clients/celebrations, you can trust you are in the right hands. As a son of immigrants from the Philippines, I understand the nuances and details that go into Filipino culture. Whether for a cotillion, wedding, or important birthday, I will treat your family and the elements of your event with the cultural respect you deserve. As someone who grew up in America, I can bring the unique perspective of Filipino and American cultures. I understand trends, jokes, and references of modern Western pop culture, as well as traditions of old-school Filipinos. I can also provide a fusion of styles, appealing to older and younger guests alike.
Closing out the night you can expect me to show appreciation and grace for the opportunity to host your important celebration. Your guests will compliment you on such a successful event, for everything running smoothly and for the entertaining emcee. You can enjoy your celebration with the peace of mind that comes with a job well done!
Lifelong performer and creative artist, Tobit Raphael Capati is a Los Angeles based actor, voiceover artist, emcee, host, foodie, filmmaker, musician, bubbler, writer, and visual artist.
Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Tobit loved to draw and play make believe. He was drawn to stories of fantasy, magic, and humor. He got his start performing while in grade school, playing at piano recitals and acting in the annual school play. His first role onstage was playing a dead person. He may not have had any lines, but the role got a huge laugh from the audience - something that became infectious for Tobit. He had a natural instinct for moving audiences, whether with beautiful music or with laugh out loud humor. In high school, he would go on to perform in multiple productions at Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep Theatre Co., where he had leading roles in musicals, dramas, and comedies. The arts program in his high school offered Tobit so many opportunities to express creativity, whether through writing, photography, design, or art.
At 18, Tobit left the Bay Area to study acting at the prestigious UCLA School of Theater, Film & Television, walking in the footsteps of actors like Jack Black, Mariska Hargitay, Tim Robbins, and Carol Burnett. He studied voice for the stage, movement, combat, dance, Meisner, and Alexander technique. His theater training equipped him with the necessary mastery of voice and physicality to take on any performance role. After training as an actor in UCLA, he landed a major starring role in the 20th Century Fox feature film "The Internship," starring as Yo-Yo Santos opposite megastars Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson. Tobit received high praise for his comedic chops and ability to keep up with Hollywood legends. He went on to work with notable Hollywood studios such as 20th Century Fox, 21 Laps, NBCUniversal, FX, Nickelodeon, and Gary Sanchez Productions. He has shared the screen with stars like George Lopez, LaKeith Stanfield, Krysten Ritter, and Sam Richardson.
Tobit remains creative as ever. He has written short films, starred in episodic pilots, provided voice over performances for animation and video games, has directed, produced, and taught acting. He has studied singing and taught himself to play guitar. His passion for creativity and his belief in the universal benefits the arts offer have made him a disciplined, versatile artist of many forms.
His roots as a son of immigrants from the Philippines have taught him the value of hard work and integrity. While between and in order to support his creative pursuits, Tobit has also held a variety of positions in support, service, and assistance. Having been a waiter, disabilities instructor, freelance film crew, and theater house staff, Tobit has developed a keen sense of organization, attention to detail, multi-tasking and prioritization, critical thinking, problem solving, flexibility, and time management. All of these qualities make for a reliable, adaptable performing artist.
In 2023 Tobit was invited to emcee a "debut," or a Filipino cultural 18th birthday celebration, for the first time. It was a huge success! His instincts in preparation, writing, organizing, and communicating gave him the confidence to deliver an energy and charisma that left event guests at ease and entertained. His high standards for time management meant that keeping the program on schedule was a breeze. His vocal energy, ability to improvise and establish rapport with guests brought an air of professionalism that elevated the entire night to one of true magic. Furthermore, his love for play and reality competitions made him a great trivia host during "filler" portions of the program, inspiring unforgettable engagement from guests!
Having had a few more events under his belt as an emcee, Tobit is excited to bring his talents and expertise to your special celebration.
Usually I am able to work off any DJ's speaker and microphone system, assuming you have hired one for your event. I only ask that your DJ supplies fully powered microphones, outfitted with the amount appropriate for your program.
If you have not booked a DJ or do not have a sound system, I am able to equip your event with a small sound system rental and microphone(s) rental for an additional fee.
I also require your venue to have adequate lighting. If your venue/event is not equipped with lighting, we can discuss a small rental lighting package for an additional fee.
