Tribute act for Buddy Holly, featuring Buddy's hits along with some other great rock and roll tunes from the 1950's. This concert will bring back great memories for all and have everyone up and dancing at your wedding, charity event, conference, or party. The concert features a four piece band of Todd Meredith as Buddy Holly on lead guitar with his three Crickets on upright bass, drums, and rhythm guitar. Depending on your budget, you can hire just the main trio or add a saxophone player. Todd also produces a show called The Night The Music Lived that recreates the last concert Buddy ever performed in Clearlake, Iowa and features the music of The Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens as well.
Actually too old to call myself a groupie, but my wife, Gail, and I have seen several concerts at the Surflight Theater and enjoyed each and every one. Hard to say which songs are our favorites, but the music of Buddy Holly, Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry among others, done by the Rave Ons, never gets old. We have out tickets for the New Year's Eve Show and hope to see you before then.
Jack and Gail Pallen
While not an "event" Todd made a recording of Buddy Holly's "Peggy Sue" customizing it for my wife Robin Sue. It was the perfect gift for her.
Response from Todd Meredith: Buddy Holly Tribute:
Thank you, Larry!
I just attended concert at the old creamery theater in Amana,ia it was by far the best concert I have been to in years, it was high energy fast pace by an excellent group, I would attend again if they were in this part of the country.
Just got home from attending Todd Meredith Buddy Holly Tribute at Val Vista, Village in Mesa, AZ. Loved it, they were all excellent musicians and entertainers. Everyone in the group was multi-talented. I especially liked the young man who did the awesome tribute to Richie Valens.
Response from Todd Meredith: Buddy Holly Tribute:
Thank you for your kind review, Judy! We had a blast playing our tribute show out in Arizona, that recreated the final concert of Ritchie Valens, The Big Bopper, and the great Buddy Holly. We're glad you had a good time, too.
Just got home from seeing Todd Meredith for the first time in Coral Springs Fl.
The show and the music were better than I ever expected. The entire audience was standing and singing along at the end. If you have an opportunity to see this group do so.
Todd and his crew are fantastic, and this turned out to be one of our strongest fund raisers to date! we had over 700 people attend two nights, and EVERYONE loved it. Todd is the nicest guy you'll meet, his band members are polite and easy going, and they know how to rock out! I can not recommend them highly enough!
The gentlemen that make up the Rave-Ons are a genuine pleasure--they are equally as talented as they are easy to work with. With a full house for a one night only fundraiser, we were thrilled with how successful the evening was. Leading up to the concert, communication was quick and concise and, because of that, it was very easy to get the guys on stage with very little time in the space. I highly recommend the Rave-Ons--you would be hard pressed to find a better evening of music performed by a nicer group of musicians.
Todd was amazing at the Alhambra Theater in Jacksonville. Anyone who has not seen the play or his band definitely should. I listen to his CD every day. What a great talent!
I took 300 Red & Pink Hat Ladies to the Alhambra Dinner Theatre in Jacksonville, Florida. We were up and dacing all over the Theatre. What a awesome SHOW this was. I personally been back to see this show 5 times, and every time it got better and better. Queen Chichi
I never really considered myself a Buddy Holly fan or not as one. I saw bits and pieces of the movie that starred Gary Busey; however, after seeing Todd perform as Buddy, I cannot get enough of Buddy Holly's music and life story. I saw the show on April 18th, and I've been watching documentaries and listening to his music on YouTube every day since. In fact, all I want for my birthday on May 12th is a c.d. of Buddy's music. That's all. That's how Todd's performance impacted me!
I hope that someday Todd Meredith becomes a "household word."
I thought the move in the 70's was good, but you really had a handle on the temprament of Buddy Holly. He was a live wire, and you were great. Hope to see the show again.
The show was one of the best we have seen. You rocked the house at the Alhambra in Jacksonville.
I contacted Todd for the New York State VFW District 5 convention in Corning NY, we came to an agreement for his services very quickly. Upon arrival he and his bandmates spent an evening meeting us and our members-not just showing up but interacting. From the start we realized we had something special! Talent, appreciation for what our organization is about, exciting entertainment, and a group of consumate professionals who were passionate about their work and who helped us to offer a VERY special night that will not soon be forgotten by those fortunate enough to attend. We as an organization can not stress enough how great these gentlemen were. I personally want to thank Todd and each of the band members-your willingness to offer the fun and excitement and provide that special magic for the moment is truly respected-THANK YOU and I and those who attended would offer a resounding recommendation at any time for your services. We fully intend to have you provide entertainment at other events within the VFW here and in New York State! Brian
I saw Mr. Meredith play Buddy Holly at the El Dorado Casino in Reno, NV last month, and it was hands down the best show I have ever seen! My girlfriends and I felt like we were back in high school listening to him play Buddy's music! Not only was he a great performer, but we got a chance to meet him after the show, and he is a truly kind and gracious person as well! If he lived in Reno, I'd hire him for any party I threw!
Love, love, LOVE Todd Meredith's performance with The Buddy Holly Story in Reno !!! Very intertaining and cute story. Todd is extremely talented, professional and engaging. Plus Todd Meredith always adds that little something EXTRA in his performance. I loved the show so much, I made it a point to see it twice !! I will look for Todd Meredith in the future to catch another performance. Ciao
I had the privilege of seeing Mr. Meredith on a double-bill of his Buddy Holly act and with his Beatles tribute band.
His act is the way a tribute should be — an inspired, passionate performance that don't seek so much to impersonate as to share the fun of classic rock 'n roll. This isn't a guy trying to pretend he's Buddy Holly (though he looks a lot like him!), this is a guy bringing out the heart and soul of rock classics.
Everyone in the sold-out crowd had a blast, including myself. Very highly recommend.
I've seen Todd Meredith preform in Arizona, Reno, New Jersey, New York, Lancaster Pa. and each time I saw him I was just amazed with his Acting, Musicianship and voice. His CD's are just an amazing replica to the late great Buddy Holly. If you haven't seen him preform you are so missing a great talent. My wife and I both look forward to seeing him preform again this summer in the Adirondacks.
Todd played the title role of Buddy for us for about 55 performances during a 10 week run in 2008. He was a joy to work with. The critics adored him. The audience LOVED him and he received a standing ovation for every performance. He has no attitude whatsoever and I would hire him again in a heartbeat.

Audience members will receive a high energy rock show from very talented musicians. For bars, weddings, or longer parties, they have well over a hundred songs and hours of material in their repertoire from the 50's rockabilly catalogue, and they are always willing to branch out and learn requested songs for particular clients.
They also offer two full length Buddy Holly tribute shows.
THAT'LL BE THE DAY gives a fresh take on the catalog of Buddy Holly & The Crickets, featuring all of the band's hits as well as some lesser known gems. The Rave-Ons will take you on a musical journey starting with Buddy's early recordings and ending with the story of his ill fated final tour. Audience members will get to hear humerous banter between the songs as well as receive an interesting history lesson about this influential group.
THE NIGHT THE MUSIC LIVED is a 90 minute recreation of the final concert of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and The Big Bopper. Using information gathered from documentaries, books, and the memories of musicians at the show, all the songs from that memorable concert are played with utmost attention to detail and accuracy. Audience members learn exactly what happened that fateful night through monologues by the performers in between each set. Featuring classic songs like That'll Be The Day, Peggy Sue, It's So Easy, La Bamba, Oh Donna, and Chantilly Lace,The Night The Music Lived is a sure fire hit at theatrical venues and corporate events.
Todd Meredith and The Rave-Ons have been playing the music of Buddy Holly and The Crickets together since 2011 in tribute concerts across the nation. All members of the group just came off of the most recent national tour of the musical, BUDDY: THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY. Now based out of New Jersey, they often play BB King's Blues Club in New York City and receive large crowds in NY and NJ area clubs. Upon completing the highly successful 2013 national tour of Buddy the musical, Todd and The Rave-Ons are back on the east coast and ready to bring the innocent joy of Buddy's music to your party or function. They have played together all over the country, delighting audiences in New York City, Reno, Memphis, Jacksonville, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Colorado, Missouri, and Illinois. Unlike other tribute bands of the same nature, all members of The Rave-Ons are in their twenties, giving the performance a youthful energy and exuberance that cannot be matched. Yet, those that have witnessed them perform have experienced a high level of professionalism and musicianship that goes far beyond their years. They are also incredibly friendly, easy going, and great to work with.
The first show offered is called THAT'LL BE THE DAY: A Tribute to Buddy Holly and The Crickets. It consists of two, hour long sets that takes the audience on a musical journey through the career of Buddy Holly and The Crickets. The Rave-Ons play all of Buddy Holly's greatest hits and some other popular 50's rock tunes that inspired Buddy. There's lots of hilarious banter in between the songs and the audience will receive an educational background on the routes of rock and roll while witnessing one of the most energetic and entertaining musical acts out there. All four band members are featured with impressive solos on their instruments and our upright player performs show stopping tricks on his bass.
They also produce a 90 minute recreation of Buddy Holly's last concert that features performers who impersonate Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper as well as a horn section). The tribute show is called The Night The Music Lived and the performers play all the songs that were actually played at that final concert while going in depth about the story of what happened that fateful night.
Finally, Todd's newest show is called A Rockabilly Christmas. It features rockabilly Christmas tunes like Jingle Bells Rock, Run Run Rudolph, and Jingle Bell Rock to name a few along with Buddy Holly favorites.
The band also has over 100 songs in their repertoire, mostly 50's rockabilly but also including later well known classic rock songs if you are interested in just booking them for a party concert. This band is great for all ages and multiple generations. Bring your kids and grandkids and watch them fall in love with the music that you grew up on. It's just great fun that will have you singing along and dancing in your seats. Keep Buddy's legacy and music alive by booking this act today.
Todd's bios:
Todd Meredith was born in Buffalo and now lives in New York City. Though playing guitar and singing in bands throughout high school and college, he started his performing career as a theater actor immediately out of college. In summer of 2007, he took on the role of Buddy Holly in the jukebox musical entitled BUDDY: the Buddy Holly Story at a small theater in Gloversville, NY and fell in love with the legendary rock and roller’s music and story. Over the past eight years, he has now starred as Buddy in 11 productions of the musical across the country in New York, Tennessee, Colorado, New Jersey, Florida, Missouri, Illinois, and Arizona. Perhaps his favorite was performing with his fellow members of the Rave-Ons in Reno, Nevada at the El Dorado Casino Showroom.
The natural progression was to start a Buddy Holly tribute band with his favorite “Crickets” and perform live concerts throughout the northeast. Todd has also performed as one of the lead males in four productions of the Johnny Cash musical, Ring Of Fire, as well as in a Beatles Live Request Tribute Concert entitled Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!: a Concert Celebration, for which he learned over 100 Beatles songs. He has released two Buddy Holly tribute albums. The first was released in 2009 under the name, NOT FADE AWAY, and includes six updated Buddy Holly covers as well as six original songs he wrote with fellow Buddy Holly impersonator, Anthony Rand. The second, ROCK, RHYTHM, and BLUES, was released in 2011 and includes 15 of Todd’s favorite Buddy Holly tunes which he kept very true to the originals. You can learn more about Todd or purchase these albums at (link hidden).
Tech rider can be provided upon request. Todd's band will perform anywhere, no matter what the stage and lighting of your venue permits. Musicians provide their own amps and instruments at no extra charge. If the event planner can provide us with microphones, P.A. system, and monitors that would be preferable, but is not necessary. We can provide these services for a nominal extra fee.
