We are Tonic Trio, a straight-ahead jazz combo based in Los Angeles, CA. We've played for private parties, restaurants, wine bars, country clubs, and house concerts. We have played at events at LA City Hall and UCLA.
We're able to include a singer and drummer if needed.
Tonic Trio 'made' our gathering of 200+ friends! A great group of (soft spoken) guys who know how to create a mood without taking the limelight. (But everyone noticed and applauded!) We cannot recommend them highly enough.

Gig Length: 60 - 180 minutes
Insurance: $1,000,000 - as required from the client. This charge will be factored into the booking rate.

Tonic Trio is a small jazz group consisting of Dan Gonda (woodwinds), Brian Hong (guitar), and Brent Butterworth (bass) who have all come from Adult Jazz Combos at The Colburn School. These combos stressed ear training and internalizing chord changes where the final concerts are performed with no sheet music. They started out volunteering to play at Dignity Hospital in downtown LA and at Kaiser Permanente in Woodland Hills. From their first gig in 2017, they were offered to play for a private party at LA City Hall. Since then they've played at the Gardenia Supper Club, UCLA, and Chevy Chase Country Club as well as restaurants and wine bars.
Dan plays flute, clarinet, and saxophones so the group has versatility in adapting their sound to the appropriate style of music requested.
We focus on straight-ahead jazz but have played for a wedding cocktail hour where we played pop love songs (Frank Sinatra, Billy Joel, Elvis).
