My concerts are quite the experience! My music blends soulful melodies with energetic rhythms, creating a vibrant atmosphere. Expect a diverse audience, as my music resonates with people from various backgrounds. My stage presence is exciting, and I often interacts with the crowd, making everyone feel involved in the performance. You'll likely hear a mix of my popular tunes along with some improvisation, showcasing my musical talent. The atmosphere is usually electric, with fans dancing and singing along, creating a lively and memorable concert experience. I use pre-recorded tracks to sing and play my guitar to. However if you came to see my "Maze tribute band featuring Tony G. Copeland", you'll get a fusion of Maze's classic hits and Tony G. Copeland's musical style. You can expect an homage to Maze's soulful R&B and funk music, possibly with a unique twist influenced by Copeland's own musical flair. The band would aim to capture the essence and energy of Maze's performances while adding their own interpretation.
Copeland was born in Norfolk, Virginia in 1961 and grew up in Portsmouth, Virginia. When he was 6 years old, his father came home with a Fender Jazz Bass, Ampeg guitar amp, Rib microphone and stand and a lead guitar. Copeland was immediately attracted to these instruments and began to teach himself to play in a dark closet where they were kept. Soon after his parents Floyd and Velma Copeland started a gospel group comprised of their 7 children where Tony played Bass and sang lead vocals. He was inspired by Wes Montgomery, Jimi Hendrix and Ernie Isley.
In 1982 Hanau Germany he played Bass for R&B group/band “Simplicity” who won the 5th Corps (USAREUR) contest while serving in the Army. After the Army Copeland along with younger brother “Gary” and others formed a show-band called “BIC”. In 1986 he released his first R&B single, My Brother. In 2002 he released gospel album Life Is Worth Living. In 2008 he release jazz album Panoramic View. In 2011 he released gospel single The Right Way which earned him a EnSound Music Award nomination.

In 2020 he released smooth jazz single, Classic Moments produced by Cory D James along with self-produced R&B cover single We Are One by Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly both on his Danay Records label while earning a Bachelor’s degree in applied administration at the University of Houston-Downtown.
