John arrived promptly and set up ready to go before guests arrived for our house party. He performed close-up magic while mixing through groups of guests and also performed a sit-down show for them in the middle of the event. The only recommendation I would have is to update some language. While most of the guests understood, "take you behind the curtain to show you some tricks," the younger generation was concerned about that phrase and didn't understand. I know he meant that he was showing us some of the secrets to the magic show, but I also understand as a linguist how that phrase might be misconstrued. We had a huge age range in attendance, so John performed well for the target audience. If John updates his language choices, 4.5 would be the rating that would pull in the under 30 group. Also assisting John is a former Pirate turned Entertainer. This fellow is called Wee Jonnie Whitebeard, Purveyor of the Mystical Arts of Magic.
